Bagelworks, situated between 66th and 67th on 1st Ave, is a true NYC bagel shop done right. Stepping inside, you're immediately greeted by the delightful aroma of freshly baked bagels, an invitation to indulge in one of New York's most cherished culinary traditions.

The selection here is spectacular, with everything from the tried-and-true plain to more innovative flavors that dare the taste buds to explore. Each bagel is baked to perfection, featuring that ideal balance between a chewy inside and a satisfyingly crisp crust. But it's their bacon, egg, and cheese on a bagel that truly steals the show—a flawless combination of fluffy eggs, crisp bacon, and melting cheese held together by a superbly toasted bagel. It's a breakfast classic done right, a must-have that elevates your morning routine into a culinary celebration.

But Bagelworks is more than just great food. It embodies the quintessential New York bagel shop atmosphere—energetic, friendly, and utterly welcoming. The staff serves up smiles as warmly as they do their coffee, making every visit feel like you’re dropping by an old friend's place.

The line also moves very quickly!

For anyone from die-hard bagel aficionados to curious visitors, Bagelworks offers an unforgettable experience that captures the essence of New York’s bagel culture. A well-deserved five stars for delivering consistent quality and that extra touch of comfort with...

I love this bagel place until recently. For the past 4 days I have come here between 8:30-8:45pm, my lunch time to find it closed. When you go online it states that they are opened until 9:30pm. On Sunday I had come at 8pm to find it closed with 3 employees inside, on Monday closed again with 2 ppl inside, Tuesday the samething, I went there this evening to get more disappointed. As I waited for a customer to come out to ask the employee if they had change there time of closing I receive the rudest responds. The employee (young male new because I have been coming here for the passed 3yrs and have never seen him) said to me after I explain to him that I have been coming it has been closed he said "I'm here alone so I'm closing". When I had told him that online it stated that the shop closes at 9:30pm and that I was going to speak to the owerned he said "Do what you have to do," and closes the door in my face. This makes me very angry because this is not how someone should treat a customer. I work in the hospital across the street from here and know alot of people who come here and its a shame that because one employee you can lose business. Well I know that the people I work with and myself will not return...

My fiance and I stumbled into this place one morning after reading a bunch of awesome reviews. "Really? A 5-Star bagel place?" we thought, "It MUST be worth it." So, we schlepped over only to find a line filled with businessman and college students alike all waiting to get what I would definitely consider to be a 6-star bagel joint. This joint is small and no more than 4-5 people can comfortable stand (elbow-to-elbow) in the place, and the pace is fast so be ready to order! The options are endless, Jalapeno Cheese, Garlic, Egg, Everything, plain, whole wheat, etc. and the cream cheese options are even better: scallion, lox, strawberry, etc. You really cannot go wrong with anything you order. Along with selling the greatest bagels in the world, they also sell their own bagel chips and have a glass case filled with all sorts of pastas/chicken salads/lobster salad/etc. Definitely check this place out when you get a chance, I promse you won't be...

Just be careful when ordering takeout bagels. They consistently sneak in flat (badly risen) bagels into your order. They have done this to me 100% of the time unless you inspect each bagel as it goes in.. they will stick you with ones they should not even be selling. Went to give them one last try TODAY and they tried to pull the same $HITE on me. I immediately opened the bag of take away bagels and 3 out of the 4 were the flat Fd ones. Also, the bagels had the consistency of ROLES and not bagels. Did this place recently sell? Completely different bagel texture now. Terrible And their response to me was to claim that their Google account was breached! Lmfao. What a joke of a store and an even worse joke of management. Rather than admit their horrible behaviour.. they blame the web! Ahhahahhahaaa. Well at least I know I will Never spend money here again!

It’s suck a nice little spot on Lenox Hills. I got a toasted poppyseed bagel, with lox, plain cream cheese and capers. The texture of bagel was very nice. The warmth, and slightly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside bagel went so well with the cold cream cheese and lox. They gave a generous amount of lox, cream cheese, and capers. I had all the ingredients in every bite until the last. It was a great bagel! The shop was a bit chaotic. You wait on a “line” to place your orders to one of the workers and then pay on a different “line.” It’s amazing what they can do in such a small place. Right behind the cashier, there is a big boiling pot and an oven, and that’s where they make their bagels! It’s great to see everything made in front of me. There is also a few tables outside of the shop to enjoy the bagel, but I choose to go to a nearby park instead.
