12/10 experience overall, BEST SALON To start off this review I want to give background my hair was horrible going into any salon and I really needed a place that would fix everything from the flat shape to the color due to another overpriced salon sadly, ruining my curls. When looking for a salon I was intrigued initially seeing that alibi used hair care that is completely detergent free. This made me happy considering my hair is curly, temperamental and doesn’t react well to detergents, so I decided to call. I was able to get an appointment and I’m so glad I did. Initially going in I had a completely different idea as to how I wanted my hair to look, but I also did admit to needing help with what would look best on me and we decided that he could give my hair a much needed make over. All the products used smelled so nice and natural and felt extremely conditioning and lightweight on my curls. Not only did I appreciate the products used, my stylist Koby took the time to assess what was needed and consulted another stylist to make sure my hair would tone up snd turn out perfectly. When waiting for the dye to set, Koby told me I was able to go relax on the private salon patio, while I waited for a rinse, which is a rare find in New York and such a nice, comforting vibe. After washing, it was time for the hair cut; he suggested bangs, and a choppy, lots of layers cut, and I was open to any style so I let him roll with it. For my first ever set of bangs, I couldn’t be happier with the turnout. Koby really has an eye for choosing a style that not only fits your face, but your style and vibe. I can say with confidence that this was the best salon experience I’ve had thus far, and I never write reviews but this one was well deserved. Let me start by saying that I live in Los Angeles, and I will wait until I go to New York to get my hair done because I haven't found anyone that comes close to the magic that Koby works on my hair. From the moment you walk in to the salon you are treated like a celebrity. Hand massages, head massages, and champagne--it's the real salon experience and once you've been to Alibi you won't want to go anywhere else! Koby has cut my hair 3 or 4 times now, and it's always a flawless, stylish cut that people literally stop me on the street to compliment. If you are lucky enough to get an appointment with him, TAKE IT!! I usually bring in a photo of what I want, and he tailors the concept to fit my face shape and hair type, and I'm always really happy with the results. Not to mention that his cuts grow out in a way that somehow makes them get better and better (which is great since I only get to NY 1-2 times/year)! He's a genius. Period. I've had my hair colored by both Nina and Natalie, and they're both amazing. Not only are they masters with color, they're also super friendly and very cool. As a traveling consultant, my work has taken me everywhere across the nation. Regardless where I have been in the past 8 years, I have always gone back to Mr. Koby for my haircut. The reason is simply - Koby does it the best.

My hair tends to be thick and can be quite challenging to manage yet this has never been for a problem for Kody. He has enjoyed the challenge and had fun working on it.

On every visit, Koby would carefully trim it down and style it in the way that fits my busy work schedule. AND Koby has never stopped incorporating creativity into the process - he'd try a new technique at one time and cut the back or the slides differently at another.

I have little time in the morning to worry about my hair yet my client-facing job requires I look presentable at all times. I have loved the low maintenance yet high-quality nature of the cut that Kody has delivered each time. Not only does the fresh cut always look great, it also tends to grow very nicely. Often times, my colleagues would ask "how do you make your hair grow nicely like that?" - the answer is "well, my stylist, Mr. Koby, made it grow this way!"
