Would not step foot in this establishment again. Was starving after running errands, saw this place and decide to go in as I love me a good banhmi… the person at the register wasn’t the friendliest. It we move, I place my order to stay order went from $17 to $20 I asked why he told me I have to pay the connivence fee if I’m using a card… cool we still moving I grab a seat awaiting my food.
My number get called and I have to walk up to the ordering counter to get it ( even though it to stay) I get back to my seat and got comfortable took a sip of my drink and proceed to take half of my sandwich out the bag take the first bite,, instantly something smells and taste weird, I proceed to smell around the half of sandwich in the plate they have given me and it was not good. I’m still trying to chew the bit I took but it was repulsive had to spit it out….
I now took the entire sandwich up to the counter and ask the guy I ordered from do u fit use a cloth to wipe down the surface that u put the bread on he said no, I then told him there’s bad smell coming from the bread and ask if he could smell it he said it smell fine ( it didn’t) he went to ask the guy making the sandwich and they spoke in the native language and the guy showed him some thing to which he made a face and in turn stood there and spoke to him for a bit b4 returning to me and saying there’s nothing wrong with the bread.. (sir I jus saw the exchange u had with the guy, please change ur cloth u wipe down ur food surface with)
He then proceed to tell me im causing a problem 😳 and if I would like my money back!! He then had to call the manager to give me my refund…Sir after that you best believe I want my money back !
I walked out and went across the street to squirrel cafe and got a delicious...
Read moreMy partner and I always come here whenever we crave Viet. The area has a ton of restaurants that sell banh mi, but this plave manages to stand out amongst the crowd. The sandwiches are insanely good (our favorite is the traditional). I don’t know where they get their baguettes but it’s SO good. The first bite is always met with a soft, satisfying crunch that acts as a perfect vehicle for the delicious filling (the ingredients taste fresh and of high quality). All the flavors are evenly balanced. The pickled vegetables cuts through the richness of the ham and the pork. The creaminess of the aioli is present throughout. A perfect symphony of flavor and texture.
Although the traditional banh mi is what keeps us coming back, what brought me to write this review was the beef banh mi that we tried for the first time! We were pleasantly surprised when we realized the beef was actually braised and not grilled (which makes a huge difference!) The meat was soft and delectable, which again, evens out with the crunchy, soft texture of the bread. This will easily become a regular in our rotation.
Also, don’t sleep on the vermicelli salad! Our favorite is the ham and...
Read moreI confirmed prior to ordering on the website that the beef banh-mi had no pork. I ordered for pick-up, came home and took a bit from my sandwich only to find pork in my sandwich. I called the store and the young lady running the cashier asked me to come back, since she made a mistake. I understand mistakes happen, however, she refused to compensate me or reimburse me for the mistake (even after me asking politely about 2 times), as I cannot eat pork for religious beliefs. She also tried to show me the re-made order had no pork in it, but was trying to touch my new sandwich with her bare hands before I stopped her. Quite surprising that an establishment like this would not reimburse their customer after a mistake like this. I don’t think I will be returning based on this experience of employees and/or management not valuing customer satisfaction and lack of...
