The person helping me pick out glasses was great, super patient and helped me find frames she thought would fit my face. Their COVID practiced was good, they put aside every frame I touched to sanitize.
When I picked up the glasses, they didn't feel right, the focus point felt off. But, despite my complaints, they said it was fine and I'd get used to it - I left unhappy with the service that day.
However, the glasses broke in less than a week. I contacted MK through email and they said they would be more than happy to replace the glasses. I asked them about getting new frames and they worked with me (including sending me pictures of frames I asked about), but in the end I thought it would be best to go in in person so I could see how the frame fits my face. The person I emailed said that was fine and I can come in any time.
I went in yesterday to choose my replacement glasses, they refused to give me new frames. They made me pay $20 for the shipping, I'm not sure how the glasses will feel when I pick them up because the lens didn't feel right...
Read moreI came here for over 10 years. As a long time customer, I felt that I was not treated properly, and I was not given the information I requested about my own purchase several times. I was charged ridiculous amounts (which I paid several times in the illusion of trust)
They will say that stuff is covered by insurance but when you sit down to buy something suddenly you are charged hundreds of dollars.
I can give you 2 examples: Last year, I went to them with my expensive Lindberg frames that I purchased from them, which I asked to be repaired. I paid additional money for them to fix it, and all they did was superglue it and said "they were sending it out to Germany to fix the frame to new"
Then, yesterday, I wanted to get contact lenses and I went to get my exam, and I was told it was covered until after my exam they said "oh you have a stigmatism" "your insurance does not cover it" and when I asked for a price breakdown - even after paying for it - they did not give me what I asked for.
I will not be going back here to purchase eyewear, and...
Read moreI had an okay experience here when I went for an exam and a pair of new glasses that would be covered by the UHC Adult Plan. Dr. Jet Ruttanasee and the staff were friendly enough but they seemed extremely surprised to see me there as it appears to be an East Asian centered business. I chose this place because it had good reviews and I didn't really want to take my chances with a small business in Queens that might try to upsell glasses to me. So me acting like a normal person engaging in a business transaction with them (asking questions during the eye exam and about glasses options that would be covered/not covered) seemed to throw them off. I chalked it up to cultural differences (I grew up in America as a Guyanese-American) but what really did it for me is that I formally emailed them a few months ago about receiving a copy of my Rx. To this day they haven't responded which reflects poorly on their customer service so I will go ahead and do business with another optometrist covered by...
