I went here to get my gel tips removed and get a regular mani. Upon arrival I was told it was going to be $10. Amazing price! But Mid way I was informed it will be $32 because they had to remove my tips. Upon asking why it’s so expensive I got a lot of attitude. “It’s been this price since the day we opened $25 plus tax” yelled the lady. Clearly I didn’t have a choice since my nails were in progress. So fine it is what it is. They don’t have electric buffer/filer tool so two women sat there for 1 HOUR manually filing down my nails to remove the tips. Even without the tools one of the girls did a great job. The other one however sighed and moaned towards me because it was too much work. Which is true but that’s not my fault, the owners should have the right tools or shouldn’t provide the service. she CUT Up my cuticles till they bled from filing so aggressively. She wouldn’t go gentle even when I complained until she saw the BLOOD and then started to take caution. She also didn’t finish the job, gave up and left a layer of my old polish on my nails and painted over it. I felt bad she had to do so much work and I still tipped her 30%. After hour and a half of being there I was exhausted and just wanted to get out of there. They clearly don’t care about improving since they have a steady flow of student coming in regularly because of the convince. In short: RUDE UNPROFESSIONAL FINISH GHETTO-Ish LACKS BASIC NAIL SALON TOOLS INADEQUATE TRAINING OF STAFF MADE MY CUTICLES BLEED In Response to the comments on my review by the owner: 1) I a 100% did not come in for a manicure, I always always always let my nails breathe for at least a week before getting them done again. 2) Please see photos for how much your technician did not finish her job, which i pointed out to her 3 times but she wouldnt do it and i did not want to be in your rude establishment. The "manicure" is not messed up, the Gel was just not removed all the way to my actual nail. 3) I went back to the other salon that you are calling ghetto... to get my nails done again and removed again, They had the right tools and removed everything in 20 mins with a clean finish and I didnt bleed. Please stop being rude to other other reviewers and calling them liars on your google page. Its not helping anyone.

Finally! A friendly nail salon! My experiences with salons since my transition as a trans woman had been a challenge. Chelsea Nails was my go to before transitioning. As a dude not much of a problem. As a Latinx Black trans woman my experiences there was humiliating. So my dear feet and hands have been searching for a new home for sometime. I stumbled on this salon because my ”seinor' center, Sage is nearby. Dawn, the owner provided a warm greeting. Jessica did my nails. My first time having acrylic. She was great. Lisa did my pedicure. She was amazing. She even put my socks and sneakers on for me. So kind. Another staff member provided a wonderful shoulder massage. Lovely experience at this salon. My best ever. I highly recommend. I'm definitely going to keep my nails and feet soft and pretty here! Thanks!

I have been coming here every month since moving to the area and have always had a very positive experience here. The receptionist is very kind and the nail technicians are some of the most detail oriented and skilled I’ve ever had. They are so careful with their work, and never rush which is pretty common at other salons. The best part is a gel manicure is only $25 which is unheard of in New York City! I think it is a very good deal and usually lasts me a few weeks. The salon is also very clean and there usually isn’t a wait.

Skill is okay, precision nice. Cleanliness is non-existent to horrifying. one of the two nail salons in nyc that i saw my designer use her bare fingernails to constantly scrape away mistakes underneath and around my nails. The tools look old and not cleaned, the oil and cream are contained in concerning looking plastic..almost ketchup bottles? The standard process for a gel mani also seemed off. Didn't let me try the colors on my nails before choosing a polish (which is also pretty common practice in most salons) which was an another odd thing. My technician didn't know to cover up the outer edge of the nail with polish so it seals the manicure and I had to request it (this was met with a confusing response along the lines of "that will make the nail chip faster? It's actually the other way around). All in all mediocre experience. Cleanliness is the biggest issue and would not recommend even for the low price.

++ I'm adding this to reply to the owner's response. This was almost a year ago so I'm not sure if you've got the right person here. I actually didn't compliment my designer at all, although I did tip her and stayed until the end because I don't think getting a cheap gel service gives me the right to be rude. Not being able to try on colors was frustrating but not enough to give a one star review. It is an odd policy (I suggest if you pick two or three salons around the area and do research-- it will help). The main point of this review was the sanitary level was beyond petrifying at the time that I went there. This is honestly a quick fix. Don't let your designers use their bare fingernails to scrape off polish and replace your bottles, instead of commenting on a yr old review pointing fingers. I don't even know if the designer that I had then is still there anymore. Anyhow, hope that your business improves (or have already improved and I just don't know about it because I haven't been...

I don't usually write reviews but I was so upset after my experience that I felt the need to. I just got engaged and was meeting some friends to show them the ring for the first time (which I was excited for). I told them that I had to leave by 8 for this dinner when I came in at 6:30. I was getting a gel mani and wanted a light pink (almost white) color. While my nails were under the UV lamp, the manicurist realized she messed up and the color was shaded unevenly. She told me she could take put a darker color over it to hide it but didn't have time to re-do it. She slopped on barbie pink over my nails which looked horrible with my pedicure.

I understand people make mistakes and I can't fault her for that, but I was more upset over the response afterwards. I told her I would come the next day to fix it but had to go to this dinner. When I got my bill SHE CHARGED ME and told me that I would have to pay for another gel mani again if I came in the next day. When I tipped her only for my pedicure she complained that it was too little of a tip and wanted more. I will never come back here and suggest you pay an additional 10 dollars for gel and get...
