This review will inevitably fail to truly convey the importance of Liz's role in my life. Still, I'll try.

Liz has had the dubious honor of working on the flawed canvas that is my head for about 5 years now. I refuse to go to anyone else. I just won't do it! I look forward to my haircuts like you, review reader, might look forward to a tropical vacation or a really intense game of paintball, should you enjoy paintball immensely.

I enter for my appointment feeling hopeful, and I leave feeling ready for anything. Liz makes everyone look and feel incredible.

Liz's passion for hair is inspiring, and is only (perhaps) surpassed by her passion for each of her clients. Being in her chair is DELIGHTFUL.

She is precise, communicative, and dedicated, and should have the ego of a Kanye West or an Alec Baldwin. She is, however, impossibly pleasant, always. I've tried to piss her off several time. It won't happen.

Additionally, Liz happens to be one of the funniest people I've ever met.

If you need a haircut, make an appointment. If you need a laugh, make an appointment. If you need a scalp massage that's so good it somehow makes you entirely forget that the whole world is just basically e-mails now, make an appointment.

Honestly, if I ever go bald, I'll still be dragging my toupeed scalp in to see Liz...

Tim has been coloring and styling my hair for around 10 years now, and his work is always on point. I don’t trust anyone else to color my hair, he is meticulous, precise, chemical conscious, and an amazing conversationalist, to boot. I’ve had him keratin my curly hair, maintain my buzzed undercut, and hair shape it curly as well as steady coloring over the years. I’ve since moved away from New York but I periodically visit just to get my hair done, because I know and trust him this much. His work is wonderful, for men and women alike. I’ve recommended many of my male friends because no one does a men’s cut like Tim does. Sharp, crisp, incredible work, every time. I have been with him through three salons and am thrilled to see him running his own shop now. The salon space he has created at public image is wonderful. Great music, sweet stylists, a piano (?!), and edgy, unique decor make it a place that I love spending time at whenever I can find some occasion to visit. This is without the very best shop in the the city. The vibe is so relaxed, friendly, warm, personable, you immediately feel very comfortable and know that you are in good hands. Tim has created and curated this environment for his customers. I started going to Tim about a year ago, right after a really bad barber had literally chopped my hair in so many layers that it is hard to describe what it looked like, but trust me it was not good. I found Tim at Public Image and within 7 months he had somehow managed to get my hair back in shape. I know how he managed, he is an expert when it comes to cutting hair. He listens, recommends and most importantly follows through and gives you the exact cut that you had discussed with him. I can't say enough about Tim other than he is just an all around spectacular guy even minus his expertise in cutting hair.
