Extremely poor customer service. I walked into this card shop and was viewing cards through the glass. One worker came and opened the glass to put some cards in the case and since he was there I asked if I could look at a charizard card. The worker did not say anything or look at me, just grabbed the card and handed it to me over his shoulder. I pulled the card out of the top loader to get a better look and then put it back in after less than 10 seconds. The worker then turns to me and says “don’t do that again you’re gonna damage the cards”. Keep in mind I was very careful and definitely was no where close to causing any damage. I apologized and then asked if I could look at 2 other Gengar cards. Then he proceeds to show me the cards himself 1 by 1 and doesn’t even let me hold the card myself. He also didn’t offer to take the cards out of the top loader. The three cards I looked at weren’t near mint so I passed on buying them. The worker then says “yeah don’t come in here looking for 10’s.” And said it in a rude and completely unfriendly way like he was annoyed at me. This was completely uncalled for. I had no intention of buying anything to grade. I happened to collect charizard and gengars.I am in New York on vacation and just wanted to check out some cool Pokemon card shops while in town. Extremely disappointed with this shop...
Read moreMy friend and I were excited to check this place out since we saw it from the street and we both really like Pokemon. However, getting up to the store was a hassle and they absolutely don't properly mark where the entrance is. That aside, we were still vastly disappointed by this store.
For one thing, I didn't like the vibe as soon as I got in, as they had a DJ blasting garbage trap remixes of Pokemon and One Piece songs, which was obnoxious to say the least. But, the biggest issue is most of their items seemed to be astronomically and laughably overpriced. Like another honest reviewer said, its all far above market value. Everything seemed very much not worth it, and extremely hypebeasty, like you could tell this place was opened to capitalize on trends and not out of passion for anything.
The Mewtwo statue I'll admit is pretty sick, but still the environment of the store I just personally didn't vibe with. Definitely not a preferred place for TCG stuff, and I would recommend something like Forbidden Planet, or Montasy Comics which isn't far from NXT. Go to those places for more laid back environments and prices that make sense. The reason why they don't get one star is they had nice gaming chairs for people to sit on.......so I guess...
Read moreThis is the most fun Pokemon/ TCG store I have ever been to by far!!! I was walking through midtown and seen the armored Mewtwo statue by the window and just had to come in!!! I was welcomed by yet another “life sized” Pokemon statue…DRAGONITE!!! the original dragon type, The staff welcomed me in right away and we conversed as if we were long time friends!!! The prices were fair, the product selection was great from vintage sets like jungle and gym heroes to journeys together and destined rivals, plushies, binders, and more. They even give you free sleeves and top loaders for your hits when you rip in the store!!! I didn’t even get to the part where the chairs are actually gaming chairs!!! and they also have a nintendo switch free to play for customers!!! I’m so glad to have this place not far from my job after a stressful day so I can unwind, I Love Nxt Legaci and...
