Currently experiencing harassment/racism.
I tried posting the message on the building board similar to the one below but management would not post it:
Hello all! I'm new to PCS and have enjoyed my few months here. However, recently there has been strange and suspicious activity in the apartment above me (10E). This apartment seems vacant or warehoused. But from time to time, there is brief foot traffic where someone stomps, bangs on the floor above my sleeping area and follows me from room to room and then march/jog in place right above me. After this harassment stops, the apartment is quiet again. Sometimes for days.
More recently I'm being "assaulted" through the ceiling with heavy objects waking me out of my sleep.
This is not renovation work or someone moving in at all times of the day and night. It is as though someone has been directed to enter this apartment and cause disturbances enough to force me to move. Has anyone else experienced this type of disturbance in their apartment at PCS?
Is it me? Is it my skin color? I'm non-white. I'm a good neighbor. Why is this happening?
Who has access to this apartment and why would they use their key to enter, menace (day and night) leave and return an hour later to repeat? It seems like an effort to force me out of my rent stabilized apartment or force the non-white out of the building.
So what is next for me? The Police? A lawyer? Channel 7? Any insight on what's going on in that apartment? Anyone at Pearson CS with similar experiences? Building staff and the Manager have...
Read morePearson Court Square Building is a five star building. Amenities ranging from a beautiful, well maintained, and clean gym to a rooftop deck offering grills and an amazing view, this building has it all. Most importantly the building’s staff are amazing.
Being new to NYC this building made the apartment application process easy and fast thanks to the lease manager. The door and maintence staff are friendly, professional, and quick to respond to requests ranging from shipping packages, dry cleaning drop offs, and placing perishables in the cold storage unit the building offers. Apartments are clean, beautiful, and offer everything most people are looking for. Compared to the rest of NYC the rent prices are fair especially for everything the building offers.
As noted in a few reviews one side of the building faces the train and there is some noise that is noticeable however the lease manager disclosed this to us fairly upon our first time viewing the apartment. We are used to it and no longer notice it.
The tenants in the building tend to be younger professionals and extremely friendly. We’ve never had a bad or unfriendly encounter with anyone. We have personally never heard noise from any of the adjacent, above, or below apartments.
All and all a great building we intend to stay at...
Read moreHorrible train noise NON stop 24/7. Cannot keep the windows open. The only time it stops if the 7 train is not running or if it is snow / rainy day. There is also a construction happening between the train and the building. Aside from the train noise, the staff is friendly, and the maintenence team addresses issues quick. However, compare to other buildings in the area, the Pearson Court has larger apartment units, lower prices, and good mix of people. If you are reading this review because of the 1 star, I actually recommend this building, just be mindful of the location of the unit (depending on the side of the building and the level, you can reduce the noise of the train). For the people who love pets, Pearson Court is the great building. There are a lot of cute doggies live in PC. I just started doing independent LIC buildings description on youtube, so you can watch it on my channel:...
