In the early days of the pandemic lockdown, I happily purchased my first Punk Rope jump ropes. I learned how to jump rope using these ropes, both beginner, speed, and heavy ropes. The Punk Rope videos taught me my basic steps and after a long time even the double under! It completely changed my body. I jumped for a few years and then thought I was so advanced I needed professional grade ropes. I made the huge financial purchase of the cross rope set. I jumped for a year with these metal and unforgiving jump ropes. I bear the scars to prove it on my knuckles, back and legs. The fun went out of jump roping. When I jumped with these expensive ropes, my hands hurt and I stopped doing cross overs and doubleunders. If I made a mistake the metal handles and metal filled pvc would punish me severely. Some of the early joy of jumping rope was gone. I stopped jumping every day. I decided recently to buy the Punk Rope again in a blazing orange and yellow combination that scream fun. My first session with the rope brought back that joy I had lost using the expensive cross ropes. Now I’m back to jumping on the daily and couldn’t be happier, crossovers and double unders without fear! Rock...
Read morePunk Rope is amazing!!! The workouts are well-paced, balanced, and appropriate for beginners to advanced athletes. Tim and Shana are adept at encouraging each student reach their highest potential each workout, and they do it all to a new killer playlist each week. Each class has a theme, so everyday is a spirit day with Punk Rope. What's really unique about this class is that they have cultivated an environment that makes fitness accessible to everyone, not just jocks and muscleheads. They also regularly hold/participate in charitable events, which I feel is representative of the massive heart behind this organization. Lastly, getting to know the community Punk Ropers has been amazing. It seems like the people who are drawn to this program got screened for good character before joining the classes haha It's great to find awesome people coming together with the common goal of achieving good health and finding time to shake off the stress and be a bit goofy....
Read moreI've been doing Punk Rope for several years. After my first class I told Tim how grateful I was that instructors don't yell at you, which was the fashion at the time.
I have a lot of hardware in my arms and legs and had worried that I wouldn't be able to do the class well, if at all. I'm active, but not a great runner, and the weather can affect my joints pretty severely. I wish I hadn't waited so long to try Punk Rope, because I ended up being pretty good at it! Tim has also been patient and worked with me to find ways I can enjoy the class when I'm feeling less than 100%, and he's done that without judgement.
That doesn't mean the class isn't a workout! It totally is--and it's a great way to get do cardio and build bone density. Thanks to the inclusion of music it's a...
