AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!
MUCH BETTER BROKERS ARE OUT THERE THAT CARE ABOUT YOU
If a driver you know has trouble with English, it is especially important that you DO NOT allow them to sign a policy with this terrible, slimy, greedy group of soul-less hustlers and insurance pimps. They will walk all over anyone who may have a hard time standing up for themselves.
I almost lost my TLC plates and entire livelihood dealing with these people who only care about money and want to pump you clients in and out like they are cattle. There is no real customer care, they are negligent when you call and ask questions, they give you the answer they think will get rid of you fastest because you are LESS than just a number. If you were an actual number, at least they would use their lazy, greedy fingers to type ypu into the computer when you called so that they could give you answers based on what is on their screen! A month later, when I inquired into why I was given misleading information, the manager told me that I was essentially not telling the truth while the the original broker that I worked told me, "I thought you were one of the hundreds [or thousands] of drivers calling in about the same "cancellation notice" from the insurance company. In fact, the people at NY Auto Brokerage tried very hard to convince me that my only option left was to surrender my plates to the DMV which, if I had listened to them, would have meant that I would have lost my plates for 30 days and then would have to START the entire TLC plate process over again while storing my plate-less car stored somewhere with money I don't have!! These sharks even renewed my insurance for March and then told me "oops! you were cancelled one month ago. We weren't supposed to renew you. Go return your plates to the DMV immediately!" This speaks EXACTLY to their incompetence.
I did, in fact, miss a payment that caused me to get canceled but it was because they told me that I was all paid up and to ignore the cancellation notice from American Transit back in January!! Their negligence left me in a very dangerous situation, lets just say.
Furthermore, they tried so hard to not listen to my problem regarding this matter and were probably hoping that I was another driver with poor English speaking and reading skills. Well, turns out I am quite educated and able to stick up for myself without any language barrier. I had to fight to speak to their manager Luis, WHO KEPT TALKING OVER ME the entire time we were on the phone until I started yelling like I've never yelled before. After yelling at the top of my lungs, he agreed to try and fix it "without any guarantee" of course, because sharks only care about their own slimy bottom line.
After shouting at their manager on the phone, over the next two days I was given ZERO follow-up or responses to my emails other than one short, nonsense, remark by my original broker telling me that I am "confused" about my payments. OF COURSE I AM CONFUSED! THEY DID NOT HELP ME WITH MY QUESTIONS AND THEY GAVE ME FALSE INFORMATION BASED ON ASSUMPTIONS! I have never in my 39 years of life felt treated so sub-human by any company as I did with this disgusting excuse for a human-made organization.
After not hearing anything from these brokers, I did my own research and found these amazing ladies at a brokerage in Queens. They instantly took my case and said, on the spot, that they are hopeful that they could fix my situation. They were sympathetic to what I had gone through and treated me like a human being. The new brokers also took a lot of time and care to essentially help me, a total stranger, free of charge. Needless to say, they have a lifelong relationship with me and I will send as much business as I can their way!
Essentially, what do we pay brokers a commission and a ton of service fees for if not to gives us clear guidance and information about our policies and the payment information. We should not have to pay people who put our business...
Read moreIn 16 months of using them I've had 3 issues related to payments with them. First, when they signed up me at the Uber office I kept all of the documents in a folder. Not one of those documents included how to pay for the liability insurance. It only had the vehicle insurance. Unfortunately this was at the same time the Chelsea office was closing so I had nowhere to go back to. Knowing that I'd have to make a payment I called them for 3 weeks with no answer. I had to submit a complaint through the Better Business Bureau to get them to call me back! I had to chase them down for over a month to give them money.
The second time was when they said I was missing a payment. I always pay through my bank's bill payment system when dealing with these lowlife no name companies in case any issues come up like this. When I contacted my bank they confirmed that every single payment was already deposited and sent me the images with NYAB's endorsement on the checks.
The third time they said I was missing a payment from February. I heard nothing about a missed payment until the DMV sent me a letter in April that my insurance and vehicle registration will be revoked for non-payment. NYAB was happy to tell me that they renewed my vehicle insurance (conveniently at the same time I received the letter even though they never told me it was time to renew that policy) but I responded back regarding the letter from the DMV. Once again I'm dealing with a payment issue from this company. My bank confirmed the delivery but the check wasn't cashed. NYAB still wanted to charge a late fee despite their usual screw up. This is in 16 months! I've never had this many issues with any company in...
Read moreWorst customer service ever-ever!!! If you want to be yelled and disrespected - this is the place where you want to get your TLC insurance. By paying a lot of money you can not ask any questions and ask to explain all fees because the only response you get - "What don't you understand?!". No explanations, just rudeness and horrible attitude of the staff. I can't say it about everyone in that office but PATRICE DASH has no manners at all! As well as the girl who's picking up the phone for license renewal, unfortunately I don't know her name. This is not the way you keep your customers, we held insurance through them but now we are looking for another broker. Will never be back again! Patrice is highly disrespectful and irresponsible.
Also, be careful with numbers they are giving you. They don’t explain that to you clearly and if you count numbers on a quote by yourself (see picture) – numbers don’t come out to the policy total. Cheaters or lack of knowledge to explain? Both options are not worth of dealing with them. On the other 2 pictures you can see how another broker explained all numbers – clear and without any problems with a very...
