BUYERS / SELLERS BEWARE !!!!
I listed approximately 250k - 300k of rare whisky to sell with sothebys. I’m not going to get into them totally not being transparent from the get go prior to auction. ( auction ended June 16 2023. It’s now September 20th 2023 and i still haven’t received full payment or my property back. They are holding approximately 100k of my property hostage and will not give it back )
My experience is they will try to bully and manipulate you and abuse their power in any which way they can to get their way.
All my property sold and I’ve only been compensated for only half. One buyer in particular is someone I know ( who knew my property was being auctioned and bid on it and never paid ) NOT MY FAULT you need to take responsibility for your own mistakes and start pre approving customers to bid like all other auctions I’ve dealt with. Sothebys is trying to hold me accountable for their lack of pre approving buyers and just letting anyone bid in order to get commissions which puts YOU / US in a position to be bullied for payment. You will absolutely NOT get away with this manipulation / bulling and my next stop will be the New York Times / BBB
NEVER AGAIN !!! PLEASE DO YOUR DUE DILIGENCE AND USE SOMEONE ELSE, DONT BE A...
Read moreSotheby's required me to use a so-called "white glove service" delivery company that cost more (at $250) than the small chair I bought. This company actually delivered the wrong chair to me! Then when they later brought the right chair, it had no protective covering of any sort--no blanket, no cardboard--and it sat in the lobby of my building like that until I could pick it up. My chair was wooden so probably not as likely to be soiled as the wrong chair that was originally delivered, which was white upholstery, but it was also an antique and a bit fragile to be just left like that with no protection. My chair came with some loose pieces and covered in dust. When I complained, I was offered only a 10% credit on some future purchase from Sotheby's...undoubtedly to be delivered by the same exorbitant, substandard service shipping company. If you see something you like, try to find it...
Read moreWe attended a private event to look at the wars from the regatta in 1854 and 18 or 1858 between Harvard and Yale which was contested on lake winnipesaukee, in New Hampshire and I don't even know who won. But as a consequence we got to wander around and found actually that you can just walk in and wander around. However unlike a museum things aren't quite as segregated and thus you can wander and see on one floor Andy Warhol and another floor paintings from the American West landscapes. It's a place you should visit they even have a little snack bar where you can get something to eat and it's just a nice afternoon kind of thing all morning kind of thing to do on a slow day. Sign up for there lists and all the sudden you'll be inundated with examples of watches that started about $7,500 these are wrist watches and top out at least so far at about 133,000...
