Took the Ferry out to Ellis Island first and then the Statute of Liberty. Loved the tour of the Emigration museum on Ellis Island.

I could identify with the Irish experience. From 1820 to 1920, 4 million Irish people passed through the gates. Got a sense of how daunting and exciting it must have been for those who had arrived. Sent chills down my spine to be honest.

The tours themselves around the building were frequent and I thought well presented.

The Statue of liberty was having repairs at the time I went in 2012 so just walked around the outside. The statue itself is made of copper and is green due to oxidation. At the time I did not know that.

I had such a fantastic time on the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island tour, and that’s thanks to our incredible guide, Dan. He was knowledgeable, engaging, and full of energy from start to finish. What stood out the most was how he brought history to life—sharing stories and insights in such a fun, memorable way.
