Been seeing ads for Thursday Boots online for some time now. Never crossed my mind to seriously consider as I've been wearing Church's and other quality shoes for the last 25 years or so. With that said. Was a quiet Thursday...hint...lol...at the office and I thought...why not. Just 6 stops on the subway and I am on Prince St, little less than 2 blocks and I am at 65 Mercer.
Went in. Was expecting the store to be a little larger. That's when I smelled the leather. We all know "that smell" of quality leather. That immediately got my attention. A few seconds later when I had a chance to look around I started geting excited. I like, enjoy and understand quality mens shoes. As son as I took a pair of boots off the wall shelf I imediately knew this was going be good. You know that feeling when you take a pair of men's shoes, boots especially, and feel something very substantial in your hands. That usually means quality. While Yves was being very helpful and explaining to me various details about the leather, finish, colors...I was busy examining all the details myself. Must say, I was very pleasantly suprised. The quality of the materials, leather sole, the finish, the stiching...yes...all around Goodyear Welt stiching. I was immediately impressed.
With Yves' help, I first tried on a pair of President boots. Left boot was perfect, the right was a little tight around the sides so I asked Yves to bring me a pair of Captain boots just for comparison. As soon as I put them on, my feet felt as if I worn these boots for a couple years already. I was instantly happy. Also didn't hurt when Tina said that she liked the way the Captains looked with my outfit better than the Presidents.
Long story short. A quick purchase later. I am on the way home holding the bag with my new boots waiting for Friday to come around for the first wear.
Worn the boots for over 12 hours on Friday. Not a single uncomfortable feeling anywhere. Very comfortable fit, very comfortable to walk in. Great feeling of a good solid pair of boots. What can I say. For the price...without naming any other brand names to protect the innocent...I think this is a smashing good deal! Will be back for a pair of Chukka's for warmer weather and possibly another pair of boots that Yves showed me a model of...that was unfortunately not for sale yet. Beautiful dark tan textured leather. Would love to get a pair.
Pics posted after the first 12+ hour day on the feet.
Bottom line. Good quality, good price, solid construction, and look great! What can I say. Doesn't suck to own my first pair! Go and check it out...
Read moreMy shopping experience at this location was top notch.
Upon entering, I was immediately greeted. Before I got to register, an employee ask if I was the one to call in about a brown Scout boot, I said yes. The employee asked if I wanted to sit until he got the shoe.
I tried in pair and noticed a defect in leather. When I was followed up by employee, I told them of defect and another shoe was obtained. The new pair fit well. A small discoloration in leather was noted and told to the employee. He explained how it was normal.
I went to proceed to purchase my 1st pair of Thursday Boot Shoes. Well what I was about to experience went from being upset to a problem well handled inside store for me as a customer.
My order was rung up and I proceeded to pay a portion with Thursday Boot Digital Gift Card. Well it didn't work and employee told me sorry, this will have to get fixed on Monday and your shoes be mailed to you. I explained no ànd why.
I was at the other location and unable to find a pair that fit. I rushed to the Soho location as it was opened 1 hour later. In my rushing I forgot my gloves and when I went back in, the worker was trying to locate me outside and when he returned, he had no gloves as he gave to another person thinking it was me. I was really upset as these were brand new gloves. I was offered a pair of socks for my now missing gloves. No real exchange for what I lost.
I shared my experience. Well another Associate thought of another way to get transction goin and was to refund card and start over. It worked.
I was offered the boot creme for the sale and then told to get the shoe brush and Thursday Boot cap. After order the staffer offered me a keychain.
I felt a days journey for boots...
Read moreFolks, this company is a joke. I deleted my previous review to give them another chance. Called the Mercer Street location looking for a real gift card instead of the digital one for a Christmas Gift..they told me to come in. Walked a mile in freezing cold, only to be told they don’t have them to walk to the other location. Not happening. Called customer service...after 20 minutes wait, you can only speak to one representative. The company don’t appear to employ anyone else for help. She told me the stores don’t carry gift cards, contrary to what the Mercer Street employee stated to me on the phone. I am assuming, because of their large online purchases they don’t want the stores selling gift cards. There’s no clear cut policy for a simple request. I don’t understand and cannot make any sense of this nor the disconnects along company stores and customer service. Go somewhere else.
FOLLOW-UP...I forgive them...they made it right. I finally reached a supervisor customer service representative...she was very nice, helpful and completely understood my frustration. Being told they have a physical card, walking a mile to the store only to find out they don't carry them, to walk another mile or so to another store was frustrating....after all this, Thursday Boots made it right. The store employees at Mercer street are wonderful...I bought 2 pair of boots in the past...I guess somewhere along the line, they got their signals crossed. THANK...
