Honestly not a lot of people know this is a TARGET EXPRESS and it has gotten a lot of bad reviews due to the fact that it is small, has limited items, and the lines are long. Let me break it down for you. We are in manhattan, in a prime area for every New Yorker and tourist and have you seen how small the building is from outside? It WILL be crowded it WILL be long lines and it WILL have limited stock. Why? Because it is EXPRESS only a few everyday items. But the staff accommodates it by trying to get the lines moving as quickly as they can. They stock the shelves AS customers are shopping. And when you can’t find an item they go to the back and look for it. People complain about the line out the door. If your on the line it’s literally a less than 5min wait to get from the front door to the actual checkout. If you thought a Tiny store with a few registers were going to be “fast” then you should go to your nearest bodega and not there. Also people have complained about the registers only being on the first floor. If you go down stairs there is no place for these registers. Would you rather have an even more LIMITED stock of item just to TRY and get out the store faster ? No. And the codes for the bathroom that everyone complained about. Would you rather the bathroom be free to every homeless person to go and take showers in the sink? Or would you go for a cleaner than the average McDonald’s bathroom ? All I’m saying is this target is not bad and doesn’t deserve all the negative reviews it has gotten. The staff is friendly and we have a good selection of things to choose from. But one thing the staff will not take your attitude. They pride themselves on having a smile and be friendly but when you come off as a mean grinch you’ll get your smiles (maybe) but you definitely won’t get the 5 star service you could have gotten. Other than that this store is not the fast paced people would want but it is convenient and cheap. Please don’t leave your items randomly around the store. Those sock do not belong next to the Oreos. If you don’t want it give it to them at the checkout, they literally have people who will put it away, don’t make the job harder just because you were too lazy to walk back to where you got it.

Store manager Randy at 34th Street is rude, disrespectful and confrontational. I went this morning to make a return and buy a few items. I saw that a sheet set was on clearance. I got the register and the sales associate explained it was ringing full price. Then store manager Randy comes and rudely explain it’s not on clearance. I explained it was the same sheets that had clearance tickets on the floor. He was rude, had poor customer service and dismissive. Then return the sheet set back to the clearance wall. I mentioned that I wanted to return a shower cap that I purchased online since I didn’t realize that it was open at the top. He said he won’t because the flowered shower cap has stains. I explained that it was never used. Once again he ignores me and walks off. I will not shop at this store again. Not sure what happened to target customer service but it is very disappointing the treatment I received today.

they have a lot of stuff here that is so useful around the home and sometimes they have excellent sale prices they definitely do not price gouge. remember this is Midtown New York City. it should be very expensive and it's not. for example I bought a spoon for two dollars. this is basically the price of the dollar store except it's in the absolute center of New York City. they also have a large amount of food including fresh produce which is incredible. i mean i bought a completely fresh pomegranate ($2.69 for a medium-large AND really fresh!) in feb 2025, along with some other produce. they also have a large selection of meats ice cream frozen foods and so much more absolutely excellent store the lines are not really that long because they are constantly moving as they have so many self checkouts and active cashiers

Target, a major retail chain, has established itself as a formidable competitor in the industry, known for its unique blend of style, affordability, and diverse product offerings. One of Target’s standout features is its commitment to providing trendy and well-designed merchandise. The retailer collaborates with renowned designers and brands, offering exclusive collections that set it apart from competitors. This focus on design not only attracts fashion-forward consumers but also elevates Target’s overall shopping experience.

Affordability is a key pillar of Target’s appeal. The company strategically balances quality and cost, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious shoppers. Target’s commitment to offering competitive prices extends across various departments, from clothing and electronics to household essentials, fostering a loyal customer base seeking value without compromising on quality.

Target’s store layout is designed to enhance the shopping experience. With spacious and well-organized stores, customers can navigate easily, and the inviting ambiance encourages exploration. Target’s emphasis on a clean and aesthetically pleasing environment contributes to a positive and enjoyable shopping atmosphere.

The integration of technology has been a notable aspect of Target’s strategy. The retailer has embraced online shopping with a user-friendly website and app, providing customers with the flexibility to shop in-store or from the comfort of their homes. Target’s efficient order fulfillment options, including same-day delivery and curbside pickup, cater to the evolving preferences of modern shoppers.

In terms of community engagement, Target has been active in supporting local initiatives and charitable causes. The company’s corporate responsibility efforts, including sustainability goals and philanthropy, resonate positively with socially conscious consumers.

However, some criticisms revolve around occasional inventory issues and limited product availability, particularly during high-demand periods. Additionally, like many retailers, Target faces scrutiny on labor practices, including concerns related to wages and working conditions.

In conclusion, Target’s success is rooted in its focus on design, affordability, store ambiance, technological integration, and community engagement. While facing certain criticisms, the overall shopping experience and value proposition make Target a preferred choice for a wide range...

My trip to Target was very disappointing for a couple of reasons. REASON #1: FOUL MOUTHED EMPLOYEES. This is a nice store that is esthetically appealing (everything is organized and clean, lots of staff on the floor). I've always been a bit biased when it comes to Target because as a teen during the 80's, in Minneapolis it was my second job. However in 2022 staffing leaves something to be desired. Everyone was helpful but the language being used in the conversations these young people were having with one another was appalling. Wearing a Target smock and name badge makes them a clear representation of the Target brand. They were unprofessional and didn't appear to care that they could be heard. REASON #2 After GOOGLING "Knee Pads near me (I plugged in the zip code of where I would be attending my fitness class) and Target popped up, I called the store to verify they had foam or gel knee pads. I was told they carried them and were in stock. Within an hour I arrived and a staff member on the floor directed me. He pointed to a tiny section with an end cap where he says: "IF we have them they would be there, however I don't think we do because I haven't seen any in while". Of course he was right. There were none to be found. At checkout with the things I purchased, I asked the cashier if there was another Target in close proximity and he advised the 42nd street store. He pulled out one of the store's devices and looked to see if they carried them. He said they did and I immediately took that long hike (it was 90 degrees). When I arrived I was again directed to a tiny section of the store with practically empty shelves and of course no sign of knee pads. of any kind. Now I'm not beyond taking responsibility for not asking the cashier to call and make sure they had them in stock but I trusted that if he saw them on his device that meant they were indeed in stock. So again I left empty handed and unnecessarily exhausted and frustrated when all any of the clerks had to do was offer to make a brief phone call to check the availability before sending me on a wild goose chase. I guess I expected more from the brand that I have come to love shopping at over the decades....
