MAC Cosmetics — Local services in New York

The asian guy with a mask and grey hair (if I remember right) was the best staff here!!! A while back he did my makeup for free when I wanted to try to learn cute and natural makeup, and I knew my fellow asian would be there for me!! After he suggested me the lashes, there was no other option for me! so so cute!!!

I feel other staff of course vary off preferences, but I had to ask for him back when I forgot a shade he chose. I tried to see what other staff would’ve chose for my foundation, and they were way off in which I knew they wouldn’t suit me. I even asked one of them which lash she believed would suit me, and she gave me more bolder ones and told me I can just try them on. I questioned it and she said “of course” as if it was obvious and then helped me subtly try them on. After she left this tall black girl (for reference) made me feel troubled and brought over her manager to tell me I couldn’t wear them. I told them the other lady told me it was okay and they ignored it and told me I had to pay for it, and so I quickly agreed which made them feel more awkward as if I was going to argue over it. Connor is very kind and helpful. I was invited to the store yesterday to try some of the new glosses that launched (didn’t get much details so didn’t know what to expect). Walked up to the store and greeted two female employees, one of whom just glared at me and didn’t speak. I guess they didn’t have any details about the invite and were confused, which is totally ok….but the extremely uncomfortable, awkwardly silent, and off-putting vibes were not. One employee, whose name I think was Lorabelle, Lolabelle ended up bringing me some lip gloss and liners samples to try. She applied one on me and didn’t even try to blend, it looked horrible. It’s like she either genuinely was bad at applying lip product or didn’t want to try and wanted to make the experience as unwelcoming as possible so I would leave. I ended up trying the other combos myself, while other employees would walk by and stare silently, making me so uncomfortable. I made my purchase and left feeling so horrible. I will never return to...

I recently visted this Mac with a friend. The sale clerks were all hostile. I asked four different employees for help they informed me that they would help when they were done with their current customers. However each one seem to forget me and didnt service me at all after waiting for fifteen mintues . I approached one of them and after telling her I was waiting for her she snapped at me and my friend and caught an attiude. I'm twenty years old but look sixteen. Even though I'm older they tend to overlook girls beacause of age. Perhaps because they feel like I'm just playing with makeup or won't buy anything, but any older women that walked in thy were quick to service.
