I came for a Sculpt class. Clean facilities located right on the 3rd + 4th floors. It's a narrow stairway to get up. The front desk, lockers, and showers are on the 3rd floor, where they provide you with a bath towel if needed. There are only 3 showers and 2 bathrooms, so expect to wait. The showers and locker area are co-ed, so be sure to change in the shower room before coming out. There's an open vanity area by the lockers to get ready afterwards. The studio is upstairs, where phones aren't allowed, since it's a heated room. Thankfully, the room isn't as hot as some other heated studios l've been to. Mat + towel combo for rental is $9, but the fee is waived if it's your first class. Before you enter the heated room, you're instructed to take a set of 3lb weights, a resistance band, and ankle weights. Depending on the class, you'll also take a yoga block. Their Sculpt class has a short stretch portion for cool down and no cardio (like CorePower). Only downside l'd say is that there are no mirrors to check your form and they turn off the lights in the class, but that's their brand. Overall, I had a good sweat + would return for another heated sculpt class!

Y7 Studio Flatiron šŸ˜” Not recommended The receptionist is not welcoming new commers, attitude was so arrogant and cold, without looking at people and talking with a low voice, not mentioning a smile on facešŸ‘Ž....very great contrast as a bacis yoga studio. The class was not recommended as well ...just like you were listening an audio class. The teacher was just sitting there giving cues, playing with music(DJ🤣?) The teacher was even facing back not looking as students from time to time..... Even students were not sure about what is going on, or some difficult asanas, no demo and no helping hands as all. Music was so loud, not enjoyable..... Maybe it is their style, ignoring participants....from the beginning to the end of my experience in Y7. However i am not quite agree, so sorry to say that as a yoga teacher as well for yearsšŸ™ please improve and dont wasting resources anymore, treasure this lovely place more, the studio itself,e.g. the location, design....are good.

Ok classes . Ok heat. 2nd time got there exactly at class time and wouldn’t let me in for ā€œsafety concernsā€ 🫤 Absurd. No one wants to be on time which is late, agreed. Every studio across the country has a grace period, bc life happens… 7pm class getting there at 7pm after walking 15 blocks and climbing 3 stories to be told no bc the teacher JUST walked up? 30 secs earlier was ok tho ? Put that on the website. Too many studio options to go out of my way, multiple flights of stairs and coed bathrooms to be possibly told no if one day you happen to not get there 15mins before like we should. Funny, first class I took started 7 mins late AND 2 girls walked in and set up AFTER the teacher. Guess it’s just men that have to be early

I got to the Y7 studio with only cash, they so not take cash and it says do on their site, my bad. I was expecting to miss the class but Instead the attendant told me ā€œno problem you can pay us laterā€ to me that’s pretty much unheard of, Mega cool! Now the class is in a candle lit room so it’s super dark, according to this Yoga method it gives you a sense of personal space and also makes balancing poses super challenging, you think you can do tree pose? Really? try closing your eyes. All in all it was an epic class super challenging, very well taught, with the instructor correcting poses etc. I really like how you go over the poses slowly and then you do a few fast versions.

I my opinion this is one of the best versions of Yoga I have practiced and the people running the place are amazingly cool and helpful. At the end of the class they told me this class is on them! Mega ultra cool! I am definitely going back for two reasons: #1 the yoga method (epic) and #2 this studio is run by hands down the nicest and coolest people you could possibly hope for.

Thank you for an epic...

I have been taking classes with Y7 for years and have never been late. Due major delays with subways, I arrived to the studio 6 minutes late and was told I would not be allowed in as it would "disrupt the flow", as if a 15 second distraction would ruin the class.

I understand this is their policy, but I was not aware of this and would have just cancelled the class and accepted a late fee knowing I would be late. I did not do this because I have seen people be allowed in late and it certainly did not disrupt the flow, and figured they would do the same for me arriving late this one time, but that was not the case.

I asked if as a courtesy they could provide me with a free class for the inconvenience and rude treatment for a loyal customer having learned my lesson to not be late, but they refused.

This is terrible business practice and incredibly self righteous for a business that claims to support mental health, mindfulness, and acceptance. I will not be returning and will be supporting other studios like Lyos Den, Corepower,...
