An incredible star in the needlepoint world! Sally’s amazing Scrim Discovery Needlepoint is an old school needlepoint shop with beautiful modern elegance. It’s the kind of needlepoint shop that’s the perfect combination of welcoming, upscale shopping atmosphere and the owner’s decades of needlepoint knowledge.

I drove down to Scrim Discovery to get an Ocean City ornament to stitch in short order as a retirement gift. I found exactly what I needed, plus an Eagles canvas to stitch as another gift. The ladies were so nice to my 94-year-old mom, who is not a stitcher and often gets bored while I shop. She had a beautiful chair to sit in and they offered her a bottle water to keep her hydrated and they engaged her in conversation.

Sally has a big selection of Jersey shore and Philly themed canvases along with a wide variety of other pieces that will satisfy everyone’s needs. With a good selection of thread mainstays and a spectacular finishing service, Scrim Discovery is clearly the place for needlepoint on the Jersey Shore.

THE BEST! A "dedicated to needlepoint" shop is extremely difficult to find. Scrim Discovery IS needlepoint. Their selection of handpainted canvases is superior. The salespeople are also terrific and experienced "stitchers". They gently guide you in selecting yarns and colors, while respecting your wishes. If you can't make it to the shop (although I highly recommend the trip as the store is beautiful and inspirational - a wonderful atmosphere), they will work patiently with you over the phone. To wit: I just completed a project (a surprise!) for my new grandson. With their advice, I surfed the websites of several of their designers to select a canvas. Sally helped select the yarns during several phone consultations. She also suggested stitching methods with some of the fancier yarns. I am waiting for it to come back from finishing. Fantastic customer service and needlepoint selection. I came here looking to start my first needlepoint canvas and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The employee (her name is escaping me, but she has brown hair!) working the day I went in was very friendly and kind when I entered. While browsing Scrim Discovery's extensive selection she gave me valuable advice on what types of canvases would be good for a beginner. After picking a canvas the employee helped me pick out threads for my canvas, checking them under a bright light to make sure they were a perfect match (they were!). To top it all off she sent me home with a starter kit that included a needle minder, scissors, needles, and stitching guides!
