New York Cafe and Grill - Ocean City — Restaurant in Ocean City

We came here for lunch a few days ago for lunch. I got an order of the mozzarella sticks and the Prosciutto with Sweet Soppressata (panini) while my gf got the Veggie Panini.

The mozzarella sticks were good though I felt the breading was. About thick and/or they were overcooked. The accompanying sauce was great -- a bit sweet with large chunks of tomato. The Prosciutto with Sweet Soppressata was delectable. The meat was very fresh and provolone perfectly melted. In hindsight, I'd have added some onions and tomatoes to cut through all the rich fat on the meats and cheeses but it was still one of the best meals I had while in OC for the long weekend.

My gf loved the Veggie Panini (and told me so no fewer than 3 times while we were eating, along with notifying me we would be stopping here on our way out for another Veggie Panini to-go for our trip home). All in all, the place seemed well run and clean and other guests were audibly enjoying their orders as well. Will def come back to try some more of the...

Mistakes happen. We made the mistake of going here. The staff mistook our order which isn’t a big deal. They then refused to fix their mistake (our sandwiches weren’t grilled and two sandwiches just weren’t taken down during the order) and quite literally yelled us when we initially came back in to check on things. When we brought the staff’s behavior up to the owner, he gave us a lecture and told us off. My advice: grill your sandwiches if they’re on the grilled menu and don’t be a jerk to the folks who have the misfortune of entering your establishment. I was looking for a place that served lox and bagels. I called and spoke to a very polite girl that assured me she had what I was looking for. When we arrived, the place was clean, friendly, not crowded, and the food.... OUTSTANDING! The bagel and fish looked and tasted fresh and delicious. They won me over. We will be back for sure! Simply amazing. Ps.. not sure who the girl is that answered the phone and took our order but she obviously knows the food and business well. She was so incredibly sweet. I hope the owner knows she’s a rare find of an employee. Great...
