The whole process took 7months, from going to class for 3weeks to finally receiving my license. I would not recommend this school. There is only one classroom on campus with no sink. Just some hand sanitizer. The desks are like a flimsy plastic clipboard attached to a chair. I just expected more for the money that was spent. Only quality on this campus is Matt the instructor he is very perfessional in his teaching practices making me feel very comfortable. What they teach you in class is only maybe about 50% of what is really on the national exam. To pass the national exam you would have to get an A and nothing less in the in class exams. For extership they will send you to cheap clinics where you probably would not want to go in to be examined yourself. My experience did not go so well as I was sent to 2 different externship locations. The first location I sent to was in Redlands there was no head phlebotomist there working with me or someone showing me where they kept the extra equipment like tubes, gloves, etc. Everyone there just expected me to know where everything was IN THEIR CLINIC. The fist day of externship the girl in charge of me just put me in the “lab” which was just a messy office with some phlebotomy equipment & a chair. I recall one day I was not able to draw an old man who had cancer and I went to go find the girl in charge of me since there was no one else in the room ever. I told her I was unable to draw the patient and she looked straight at me and rolled her eyes then walked away. This was not the first time I was ignored at this facility. Im sorry but that is no way to treat a student. I have never joked with her prior to that so I know that eye roll was serious. I did not return to this location. I really did not feel comfortable in that type of work environment it was not just the eyeroll there was more. I told Sam about these incidents and she just laughed about it like she does all other things. Overall did not feel comfortable even talking to Sam about this further as I could tell she was not taking me seriously. She agreed to move me to a different location but told me the 3 days I had done in redlands did not count. wow. Waste of time for real. Now that I had finished I have been applying to a couple of clinic locations but most want 2years prior...
Read moreI attended AUMT for phlebotomy I was Extremely nervous start a new profession and didn’t know where to start or where I wanted to be so I Signed up to take this course and my instructor was Stephanie. I couldn’t have asked for a better teacher she was very hands on and would explain certain things a way I could understand. When it came to drawing blood she made me feel so confident and comfortable and with her techniques and practice I became confident and it just came naturally during lessons and exams she was A tentative Instructor to really go over the material to make sure that you understood before she moved forward she cares about her students and wants to see them succeed in this field. I cannot thank her enough and this school for giving me the Opportunity to open a new door in the medical Field. If you are looking for a school to get your foot in the door AUMT is the school for you. It’s just an added bonus when you have an instructor like Stephanie to really help you in a way that you need and to show you step by step to...
Read moreortion: I had the pleasure of having Ms. Owens as my instructor/teacher through zoom during Covid. Every class was taught very well and with great care. We had presentations, homework, research to do, and she makes sure you do it right as well. Ms. Owens is very knowledgeable and I love that Ms.Owens took the time to explain anything we had questions about. It's been 2 years and I still enjoyed my time so much at AUMT for the MA program and having Ms. Owens as an instructor.
Lab/externship portion: Mr. Miranda at Temecula location was so patient and helpful in guiding us doing injections, blood draws, taking vitals, and lectures. The time passed fast and was enjoyable! Everyone was super nice.
The school did help in finding my externship which i was so thankful for! It was tough but I did it. I was able to gain hands on experience working urgent care, and realized what I liked and didn't like. Overall, a good...
