Orange Technical College — Local services in Orlando

Graduated from here in 2013 for my LPN. Very unprofessional staff. These tech/trade programs attract all types of people and you're thrown in with them and doesn't help that it's Downtown Orlando. The staff is mostly "locals" if you get my drift:

I was denied honors because the instructor disliked me despite meeting qualifications.

I was also made to clean the classrooms as part of my "course makeup" which was meant to humiliate me.

An instructor made a derogatory comment about one of my Haitian classmate's accent after she read out-loud in class.

I was routinely bullied by two classmates that I repeatedly complained about to no avail.

The weird security guard, a black guy, didn't like me because I didn't kiss his behind enough and give him the attention he wanted so he made a non-specific complaint about me and I was made to apologize to him for literally nothing, just to stroke his ego.

Post-graduation, I had to raise hell in order to get my information transferred over for my license because they took their precious time sending it over.

They should've shut the LPN program down. The worst program that does not facilitate a proper learning...

I am extremely disappointed with the lack of communication and responsiveness from this institution regarding their nursing program. I have been attempting to get information since August and have submitted my contact details for the program at least twice a week, in addition to calling several times. Yet, I have not received a single response.

In a desperate attempt to get some clarity, I even reached out to other campuses, and the best advice I got was to "go to the school website." This is beyond frustrating, as the website doesn't provide the detailed information I need to make an informed decision about my education.

It's disheartening to think that this is how prospective students are treated. I'm genuinely passionate about pursuing a career in nursing, but the lack of communication has left me questioning how this program is run. If this is how they handle inquiries, I can only imagine how difficult it would be to actually study here. I'm not sure how to proceed, but I hope this review encourages some much-needed improvements in their communication process.

Who's running this place, and why is it so hard to get basic...

If I could give them a zero star I would!! DO NOT I repeat DO NOT waste your time with this school !!! it's a JOKE. The staff downstairs are a whole bunch of liars and have no ideas what they are talking about half of the time. I took accounting with a teacher that is not certified to teach! she does nothing but sit on her computer and look at houses all day. when I registered for this school I was told that I will have an professor that will actually teach me accounting and go over everything with me. We teach our self! EVERYTHING we do is ONLINE!!! but they want you to sit here for 900 hours!!! and it's doesn't matter if your child is sick or if you have court YOU HAVE TO MAKE ALL OF THE HOURS UP! so please don't waste you time. there is a similar school in the area that offer the same programs as this school. I wish I went...
