Empire Szechuan — Restaurant in Orlando

Do Not Patronize this business if you live downtown!! I live in the Vue and I had a horrible customer service experience. Both my wife and I were treated very rudely by a young manager there named Frank. After patronizing this place for many months, I had an order messed up. On a very rainy day, I ordered sweet and sour chicken and arrived home with the order of chicken but, not any sweet & sour sauce. When I called back, rather than have me come back in the rain...I was promised a comp for the same meal by a young female employee who apologized for the meal that was incorrect. I was told at that time, that the comped dinner would be in the computer when I ordered my next meal with my name. When my wife called to place a new order within the week, (which included the replacement sweet & sour chicken and another meal for her) we were given a VERY hard time and even told that the employee was wrong for telling me that and they refused to honor the meal replacement. This belligerent manager Frank was insensitive and insulting and flatly told us that if we lived in the Vue, we should have enough money to afford a $10 meal. During the course of this conversation we were spoken to very rudely, we were accused of "lying" to get a free meal. we were yelled at, AND he said he wasn't concerned about doing business at THE VUE or other places downtown because they have plenty of customers. So clearly this post if NOT about getting a FREE comp meal...it is about principal...AND the value that Empire Szechuan places on those that patronize their business. The rules of good old fashion customer say that if you mess up a customer's order...you make it right. Two wrongs on the part of this restaurant...1) for getting the first order wrong in the first place 2) for refusing to honor the comp meal because of ANOTHER employee error. Not my issue...if you run a business it is your job to give your paying customer what they are paying for. SHAME ON YOU EMPIRE SZECHUAN for poor customer service AND THE ARROGANCE to say you don't care. Frank the manager said we can tell as many people as we'd like...so here it is. The staff here are so rude!!!! All they do is talk over you!! And when you ask about delivery they say it’s a minimum of 15$ okay that’s fine then proceed to tell me YOU HAVE TO TIP - so rude! I would too of course but not after you telling me I have to!!! Then the delivery man shows up with the wrong order I just ordered the same thing 2 days ago and I asked if he could please bring me the correct order and he said NO and walked away so fast! Then I called and spoke with the woman that always answers the phone and she wouldn’t let me talk, just kept talking over me and kept telling me that’s the price for that portion when I literally ordered the same thing 2 days ago and it was a larger portion. Also the other day I picked up my food and I get home and I had pork rolls instead of shrimp rolls I ordered, they were kind enough to bring me the right shrimp rolls but then asked me for the pork rolls back!!! Omg what?! Your going to sell these to someone else or something? I found that so weird and gross. I hope they didn’t. These people are greedy, money hungry and rude! I would never recommend this place to anyone! Poor service and food isn’t...

best chinese in the downtown & sodo areas by a landslide, and better than any mall food court. everything you want- familiar, rich flavors that are tender and moist (i swear every other chinese place around here is dry and gross).

delivery is super easy to either call in or order from the website. you can even make an account in the website so you don’t have to type your payment info every time. they’re very quick to deliver and always get the order correct. I’ve done pick up too and i’ve never had any issues.

inside is very urban but clean. moody lighting too. i like to eat there if i’m hangin around downtown.

they also handle large orders like it’s nothing. i had a birthday party last year for about 15people and ordered an abundance of food from empire szechuan and they not only gave us extra rice and sauces, they even helped load it all into the car.

my favorite is the moo shu 😋 every dish i’ve had is good though, and the portions are always super generous for the value. i end up eating it over two or three days at least....
