I am extremely picky about whom I will entrust with the responsibility of maintaining my hair; prior to being referred to Kaylyn (Kay) at Barnet Fair, I had gone to the same person (and *only*) that person for 10 years. I have been going to Kaylyn at Barnet Fair for a year and a half now, and every single visit I have left extremely happy with the analysis and care that she put into ensuring that the cut and colour meshed well with my face shape, skin tone, and personal style. I've noticed people commenting about price, but for something like hair, I truly believe that you pay for someone's experience, training, and expertise, so go cheap at your own risk. I know that Barnet Fair's stylists constantly attend classes to learn the latest trends in cut/color, which can't be guaranteed if you go with a chain salon in a mini mall. The atmosphere is great - clean and welcoming with a high-end (but not cold!) feel and an interesting selection of magazines/books. While my hair is my most important factor for salon satisfaction, I can't finish this review without also pointing out that everyone whom I interact with at Barnet Fair is always friendly and positive, which is definitely another important aspect of a salon visit for many!

My stylist was very nice and extremely skilled. However, she just seemed kind of distracted and not super tuned into me. Barnet Fair doesn’t do one on one consultations. So, I sent an email with pictures of my current hair color/cut and what I was trying to achieve. When I arrived for my appointment, my stylist hadn’t seen the email and had no idea what I was looking for. I tried to explain but I guess I didn’t do a very good job. I left the first appointment very disappointed. I came back a second time and it was a bit better but the color bled out around my temples. It doesn’t look good. In total, I spent $405 at Barnet Fair to get my hair colored and cut. I am still not happy with the outcome but I don’t think there’s anything that can be done at this point. It’s frustrating.

I held off on a haircut for a long time after growing out my length and knew I wanted someone experienced with wavy/curly textures. I wanted something with volume that didn't take a ton of maintenance since my morning routine is almost non-existent. Josie did not disappoint - she was fast, thorough, and detailed with the cut, even showed me how to style it and what products to use. Not to mention she and her staff are super friendly and lovely to talk to. Thank you so much!!

I was thrilled to have a hair appointment after months of a long outgrown look due to Covid-19. I admit that I was very nervous about being inside with others. Barnet Fair had really good practices in place, no waiting room, temp at the door, my hands washed immediately before touching anything, petitions between washing stations, masks at all times, disposable capes, and PPE for the hair stylists that included masks and shields. Everything was taken extremely seriously.

Now to the cut! I saw Erin and I absolutely love my cut. She did an amazing job listening to what I wanted and looking at the growth pattern of my hair. She determined what would compliment and she was just so darn pleasant. Will def...
