I would say somewhat misnomered--more of a mini, specialty grocery store that does have a nice selection of neatly-displayed produce and for the most part reasonably priced (though the non-produce items are pricey). Much of the staff is polite and friendly. Nice place overall.
Minus at least 1 star for 2 bummers from last trip:
Was most likely (I hope) inadvertently charged $4.99/lb. for "shishito" peppers though what I bought were long hots that were only $2.99/lb. Didn't notice until I got home. Big difference in price!
On my first trip there were paper bags scattered throughout but on this trip I could not easily find them so I used several compostable "plastic" bags that were much more visible. However when I read the receipt at home I found they charged me 15 cents per bag. There was no sign (at least that I noticed) stating the charge for these bags therefore that, along with the fact that they, the "plastics," were more readily-available than the papers, made me feel deceived.
Notes: Shoshito peppers and green long hots do look similar but since they sell both why not train cashiers be able to distinguish between the two or when in doubt ask the customer? Especially since there is such a big price disparity.
An employee stacking avocados I'm sure saw me grabbing several of the compostable bags. He could have warned me that there was a charge for them but he said nothing.
Not ready to give up on the place yet but might wait a few months before returning to give them a chance to get their...
Read moreLiterally cannot give the store a bad review. I moved here from out of town last year. Riverwards was one of the first cute places I stumbled upon. I remember seeing the giant pumpkin display down the cobblestone alley. I just wanted to say employees are always accommodating and very friendly when I am there. I canât believe I am saying this but a family tried to get into a fight with another customer when I was waiting for my smoothie this morning in line. The girl was able to remove herself from the situation and order the smoothie out of line. I hope everyone can look back who witnessed or saw this and appreciate the positive things in life, not take things for granted, and try not to sweat the small things. A fight is NOT worth butting in line for a smoothie. Thank you for keeping everyone safe and getting these individuals safely out of the store...
Read moreEmployees are quite rude. I get it, youâre overwhelmed since your smoothies went viral. However, you donât flag down customers like cattle rolling your eyes huffing because your credit card machine is faulty. A simple excuse me or walking the half step to speak to me would have sufficed. Employer had no problem walking to count her tips rather than try to organize the line. No one knows how to say excuse me. Expect to wait until other customers order the same smoothie as you since theyâre grouping them all together rather than having a better system. My partner got his 15 minutes after waiting while I received mine 30+ though we both placed at...
