We couldn’t be happier with our custom walnut pedestal table from Philadelphia Table Company.
When we purchased our new house, we searched high and low for a table that would work well for our breakfast nook. It had to be the right style, the right size, and, most importantly, a high-quality piece that would both look beautiful and stand up to years of daily meals with preschoolers and kids. We must have looked at every pedestal table available from large retailers and trade-only houses alike, and we failed to find anything that had the quality we wanted. When we were almost resigned to buying an expensive piece that we knew wasn’t going to be top quality purely for lack of alternative, we found Philadelphia Table Company on Instagram. All of their pieces were stunning and their mission of creating heirloom-quality, solid-wood furniture, handcrafted by one skilled craftsperson was exactly what we were looking for.
From our initial call with Paul, it was clear that the PTC team takes pride in their pieces and would work closely with us to design and create the perfect table for our family. Paul made helpful suggestions about the functionality of the table and the various finish options to ensure the piece worked well and looked good for a very long time. After we finalized our design, our assigned craftsperson - Bailey - executed our design to perfection. The installation team (who are wood workers themselves) were lovely, and it was clear that the team takes collective ownership of each piece to make sure it is flawless from inception to install.
The table is a gorgeous solid walnut oval pedestal table with a tiered base. It is extremely sturdy and functional, and it is now the centerpiece of our kitchen (and our lives, quite frankly, as we spend most of our time in the house sitting around it!). Everyone who sees it remarks at how beautiful it is. Our PTC table is an investment we will enjoy for years to come, and we would highly recommend Paul and his team to anyone seeking to add a beautiful and highest quality piece...
Read moreI happened to find the Philadelphia Table Company online. We were looking for a custom made table to fit in our kitchen/dining area here in Manhattan. I can’t say enough how impressed I was and am with the process from start to finish. We drove down to Philly and met with Paul who took his time and helped us design our kitchen table which included an extension piece. We knew we would have to wait several months for it to be completed because Paul had told us the table would be crafted by only one person so as to maintain consistency throughout. We received the table about two weeks ago and it is absolutely gorgeous! It is a beautiful piece of art! A shout out to Royal, the maker of our table, who is a master! We love our beautiful piece and can’t help but to admire it every time we pass! Thank you for your creative, knowledgeable suggestions, your attention to detail and making this experience easy and exciting! Janet and...
Read moreAfter reading master cabinetmaker Callum Robinson’s gorgeous book, “Ingrained,” I decided I “needed” a custom dining table. Research led me to Paul Mencel’s highly rated Philadelphia Table Company. We met in their Old City showroom, and in short order I had 100% confidence I found the right people for the job. Specifically, I wanted a live edge walnut tabletop on brass legs with two self-storing END leaves (to ensure there would be no seam across the middle of the table when the leaves were not in use).
Sofia worked closely with me on the technical design and specifications, and Jackie kept me up to date on the progress of the work (about .
Chris Keens crafted an exquisite table (thank you!) and it was carefully delivered and meticulously set up in my home today (again, thank you!) The beauty and function of the table far exceed my already high expectations.
Bravo for a superb...
