My wife and I went into Burlington for the last time today. We only shopped there every couple of months, so probably not a big loss on their part, but we spent a decent amount of money there when we went. I liked buying shoes there because the prices were fair and I am not a someone who needs the most recent model. I understand they might have a high amount of shrink (loss of product through theft), so the security wires on the shoes is understandable. Having said that, EVERY other time I have done my shoe shopping there they would take the wires off so I could actually try both shoes on and walk around in them if I asked. This time there were 2 pair that I was interested in and I asked if they could take them off so I could check them out. The young lady said “she could only take them off if I paid for them” I told her I just wanted to walk around in them, but she just sort of shrugged. I decided I would rather take my business elsewhere and quickly found my wife, who had already started a cart for home decor stuff. Funnily enough, I can go into Shoe Carnival and try on sneakers that sell for 100 bucks, or more and walk in them to see if I want to spend my hard earned money. So it’ll cost me more, but I won’t be treated like I am trying to steal a 20 dollar pair of shoes. Clearly I was not happy, maybe it was the fact that their AC wasn’t working properly and felt like it was...
Read more——-The store says that the manager was following the store rules only, then why would other stores accept other kind of ids? I still think she was being racist. ———- -Me and my mother in law went to this store on Monday October 30th 2023. My mother-in-law and I went to this store. She had several things she wanted to return, but when she went to the register there were two women there, the manager and the cashier. My mother-in-law obtained a consular registration at the Mexican consulate several months ago, and that is her form of ID that she uses in the United States to identify herself. Well, it turns out that the manager told the cashier that she couldn't accept the return because my mother-in-law's ID was not an American ID, and therefore she couldn't return the things to the store. We insisted a lot to return them, because it is not the first time that she makes returns to a Burlington store. The manager behaved in a very ugly way and when she spoke she didn't even look at my mother-in-law face. I don’t know why she was being so racist. If you don't want undocumented people shopping there, then put up a sign letting people who don't have an American ID know that if they buy there, they won't be able to make any returns just because they are illegal and don’t have an American ID. I hope the manager sees this, because you know what I am...
Read moreI've spent plenty of money in this store on a regular basis until I visited this location around January 20th of this year. After making a purchase and leaving the store I realized my 11yr old son left his cellphone in the men's dressing room. After speaking with someone and verifying that the phone was mine, my son and I made a trip back to the store to get it. When we approached the counter (I kid you not) at least 5/6 employees just looked at us. No Hi welcome to Burlington No Hi how can I help you nothing. I literally had to say hi to them then state why I was there. After receiving the phone I told the young lady thank you and she said nothing. As I left the store I thought to myself ppl have bad days but when 5/6 staff members are having a bad day you may as well shut the store down.I mean I love Burlington and I choose to drive to this one instead of Lafayette Square mall because I don't want the rudeness but that's exactly what I got.Customer service should be #1 priority after all I didn't Make you feel out that application. Just wanted to get that...
