DICK'S Sporting Goods — Local services in Pooler

FALSE ADVERTISEMENT I recently visited store 1310 9/14/2024 @ 12:10 pm in Pooler, GA, in search of sporting chairs and noticed Yeti had some options. As expected, the price was high, with chair listed at $300. However, I saw a red "SALE" tag, which led me to believe the price might be lower than the featured price.

I asked an employee named Clarence about the pricing, as the sign didn’t show both the original and sale prices. Clarence, who was very polite, explained that it wasn’t his department but went to find someone who could help. He returned with a man named Charles. I pointed out that on the Yeti site the price was the same.

When Clarence restated my question, Charles responded in a condescending tone, dismissing what I thought was a reasonable inquiry. He simply said that $300 was the price. When I pointed out that the chair was marked as being on sale, he replied that "everything in the store is on sale." I followed up by saying that if that were the case, there would be sale signs everywhere. Instead of addressing the misleading signage, Charles pointed to other cheaper chairs, as if to imply price was my concern.

I explained that the price wasn’t the issue; it was the misleading sign. After that, I thanked him and continued speaking with Clarence, who remained helpful and professional. After Charles left, I noticed another display with a proper sale sign showing both the original price and the discounted price.

The store is very nice, lots of really good name brands. Patagonia, Columbia, North face, guy Harvey, nike, under armour, Adidas, Costa del Mar and others. There is a nice gun/knife/bow selection with even an archery lane and a huge outdoor activity selection and friendly staff. They are even giving out boxes for Christmas for free. I'm very happy with all that however the prices are incredibly high.... I do expect it to be high on nice brands like they have BUT they are having lots of sales right now and even with the sales the prices are extremely high. For example they have a rack that has colored dots and it says for one pink-75% off well there are absolutely no pink dots on any tags. The sale barely changes any price at all. We purchased a basketball goal and chose to add the installation because my husband and I work a lot. Assuming it be a hassle free experience. The select service group they use for installation was horrible, and more trouble then us just doing it ourselves. After getting canceled on and our wait time being over two weeks we just decided to cancel the installation and did it ourselves. However, the Dicks Sporting goods associates were awesome. They helped us not only cancel the service but refunded our money with no issues. Alfred was extremely helpful and polite.
