Sherper's — Local services in Port Washington

As someone who is brand new to kayaking (and has somewhat of a couch potato physique ) I was very intimidated at the thought of shopping for a kayak. Luckily, I found my way to Sherper's and to their awesome employee Lesha! She was so knowledgeable about every brand of kayak and all the types of paddles and car racks etc... but more importantly, she made me feel so comfortable. She answered SO MANY questions, over the course of several days... in person, through emails, on phone calls etc. She never made me feel pressured and we had lots of laughs together! Sherper's is one of the few places where I know I can reliably get real clothes for real winter and even have many options to choose frlm. I had been to maybe 4 other stores with extremely weak winter coat selection (in January) before finding Sherper's and their entire huge room of proper Wisconsin winter coats. And Sherper's even offers their own high quality branded products. If you're like me and you thought you needed a multi-hundred dollar North Face or Patagonia, there will be a very similar quality and weight of coat in a Sherper's brand which saved me $250 compared to a VERY similar North Face coat. Buyer beware of their return policy!! They put it at the very bottom of the receipt, but no where else. We bought hundreds of dollars of gifts here for our family for Christmas, trying to give to the local brick and mortar. Unfortunately, I tried to return a $100 sweater 18 days after I purchased it. (They were closed one of the days) and you can only get instore credit after FIFTEEN DAYS!! I had assumed it was a standard 30. There was no grace on this "policy" even though I missed it by 2 days. Well, now I will have a really hard time buying from here again, with such s crummy return policy. We tried to support "the little store", but as a working parent, 15 days...
