I wish I had known Kiehl's censors and blocks negative reviews on their website before buying any of their products [Side note, Kiehl's has a D- rating with the Better Business Bureau, so that explains a lot]. They post a select few negative reviews so it doesn't seem suspicious, but they actively censor and filter out negative reviews of their products to make people think they're quality.
I bought a bottle of their Magic Elixir scalp treatment, and not only did it not help with a thin patch on my scalp, it actually seemed to worsen hair loss. I used the elixir as directed and left it on for at least 20 minutes each time, and whenever I used it on my scalp I would see three times the normal amount of hair strands on my hands in the shower when I washed it out. The times when I didn't use the elixir before getting in the shower there would only be a couple hair strands during the shower, which is what it should be.
The ingredient label on the bottle uses microscopic printing so it's impossible to read; and the ingredient list is much longer than what's claimed on the Kiehl's website product page (it looks like there are a bunch of chemicals in it). The elixir was basically like rubbing vegetable oil on your scalp.
Not only was I disappointed with the product, but I was disappointed with Kiehl's as a company. A couple of hours after I bought the elixir I saw that Kiehl's changed it to 25% off on their website. I immediately emailed them about the price cut, and they just ignored me until I sent a second email 14 days later. Their response was basically "oh well, sucks that you overpaid." Any respectable company would've done a price adjustment, or at the very least offered me 25% off a bottle of the elixir in the future to keep me as a customer. Nope, Kiehl's doesn't care about...
Read moreVery pretentious sale assistants who made empty promises and were rude to me. I will dump Kiehlâs products from now on. Maybe I will try âDrunk Elephantâ thatâs available in Sephora. I was told that it is a better skin care product than Kiehlâs.
Hereâs why: Iâm a tourist. I bought almost $700/- worth of Kiehlâs products in Boston MA last week. I realized I was short of a hydrating mask and a day eye cream. So when I arrived here in Portland few days ago, I went to this store (6/17/2018 Sunday) to get these items but ended being persuaded and bought another $175/- worth of Kiehlâs products.
I wasnât given the promotional gift with my purchases. When I called later about the gift, the assistant on the phone told me to come back for it. When I realized it was only a tiny 3ml tube of Eye Fuel for man, I didnât want to make the trip back to get it. However, this assistant told me she would definitely reserve a travel size bottle of toner for me to pick up after I had told her that was what I really needed.
I came back to the store few hours later to pick up the toner as promised. The assistant I spoke to on the phone didnât want to come out from the back room to attend to me even when I requested for her. Instead, the manager attended to me and insisted that there wasnât any travel size toner unless I pay for it, while another assistant next to her rolled her eyes on me and ridiculed me with sharp laughter when I left the store.
Thatâs it. No...
Read moreKiehl's Since 1851 was a terrific experience. It was my first time at this shop. The moment you walk in, the employees working there are very kind and welcoming, ready to help you with any questions you may have. The employee helping me was super kind and friendly. They offer this skin screening. That helps you figure out what you can approve on your skin. And it just gives you a measurement of how your skin is doing. Which is a free service that they offer there at this store in person. You can just walk in and ask for a skin screening and go from there if you want to buy any products after the consultation. This consultation was really helpful to me because It helped me understand what I could do to improve my skin. I did get the Calendula Deep Cleaning Foaming Face Wash ($28). Which was a great purchase. I have been using it ever since I got it, and my skin has improved greatly. Overall, would recommend coming here and getting Yourself a consultation to see what you can improve on in your...
