Best tea 'hang out joint.' Trendy, Clean, Great Tea Quality, fair pricing & comfortable.
I have been a customer since their third month in business at this location. I have always found this spot as my 'secret hideout' and I have enjoyed it with friends, family members and business associates. Climb to the top of the stairs to this place, sit outside on the deck amount the tree tops, in truth, if you feel like you are in a tree house along Northwest 23rd Street. The twinkling lights below gives a very Enchanted feeling while sipping tea in the evening especially while the sun is setting.
Once inside, you note all of the mini cubby holes holding little jars at pre-mixed tea blends. Each are numbered, the numbers also correspond to the pricing guide menu that you may flip through, usually sitting at the base of the shelf. From smokey teas, health beneficial tea blends to all of the classics and standardized teas, this place has something for everyone! Even those who are not terribly fond of tea will enjoy this place as they also offer infusions which are basically, fruit and tea blends. (simple speak)
curl up in the corner with a book or surf the Internet while on your tablet or laptop. Sit by yourself or enjoy a quiet conversation with others. Over the years, this place has expanded and added several rooms because of it's popularity. you can grab snacks and other small bites to eat and there is not a full meal menu bit ample if you're craving a little nosh f some type.
The music is not too loud, the vibe is laid-back, you could arrive with a date, wear a business suit, jeans and tee shirt with no concerns. all types of people from all walks of life are welcome. Parking can be a bit dicey to find along Northwest 23rd Street and along the edge of the sidewalks off of 23rd so be prepared to possibly walk a block or two as it's a popular place. I was fortunate enough today to get princess birthday, directly in front. It happens!
*UPDATE 6/26/20 I've returned to this location and again and again, I've always been pleased with the service. Mind you, it could have been a long day but the staff certainly could smile more universally speaking. It's kind of a gloomy bunch each...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of trying boba tea, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations! From the moment I took my first sip, I was greeted with a burst of flavors and textures that instantly won me over.
The quality of the boba tea was exceptional. The tea itself was perfectly brewed, offering a rich and refreshing taste. The tapioca pearls, also known as boba, were a delightful addition. They were perfectly cooked, chewy, and provided a satisfying texture with each sip.
I was impressed with the variety of flavors available. From classic options like milk tea and green tea to unique combinations like taro or matcha, there was something to suit every taste preference. I particularly enjoyed the taro boba tea, which had a creamy and subtly sweet flavor.
The service at the boba tea shop I visited was exceptional. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to recommend flavors based on individual preferences. The drinks were made with precision and delivered promptly, ensuring a pleasant and efficient experience.
Overall, my boba tea experience was fantastic! The combination of flavors, the texture of the boba, and the overall quality of the drink left me thoroughly satisfied. Whether you're a boba tea enthusiast or new to the world of bubble tea, I highly recommend giving it a try. It's a delightful and refreshing beverage that is sure to please...
Read moreHoping Mississippi continues to come together. The manager is definitely working hard and willing to listen to feedback. Met the owner once, didn't seem like she really wanted any feedback.
Today my tea is horrible. It seems some tenders make things with teaspoons and others tablespoons. Green tea is not meant to taste like a cup of tannin. If too much or if the water is too hot or if it is steeped too long you have ruined the tea
The prices have also gone up a couple of time since the pandemic. By the time you leave a tip you have a 6-7 dollar cup making it not possible to be your daily tea stop. Why is it that coffee is cheaper than tea?
The matcha is not high quality and their alternative milks are all Pacific brand if you like them.
If you want good music and a chill vibe go to Behind the Museum Cafe. Music at Mississippi is not tea house music for sure. Really miss the Burnside cafe, quiet atmosphere and Sierre was great.
This place has a lot of potential but it will take an open ear to keep it going or like Townshend's horrible Alberta remodel it too will fail. I so miss the old Townshends on Alberta, great staff, great...
