Mak's Mini Mart — Local services in Portland

Great selection of all kinds of drink, snacks and some international treats as well. Unfortunately I was treated rather poorly there very recently. And this is after being a customer for almost 2 years.

I always offered to leave my bag up front and the cashier said I was fine to carry it. This is off and on over 2 years. Yet I came in a few days ago with my backpack stuffed with my belongings and a blanket I had used for a move sticking out. And my mask had been damaged so I covered my face with a shirt until I could get a new one.

Not even 5 seconds in the store and the cashier immediately shouts at me for not having mask as I try to tell her I will be getting another and I am doing my best considering. Then shouts at me about my backpack.

That is really what I am irritated. Basically she thought I was a homeless person and was singling me out in front of customers. And they could tell I was not happy with the treatment I was given.

So I will probably shop there. However I am going to be insistent that the cashier working takes my bag so I never have to be treated the way I was and will not have to give more negative reviews. Especially since 2 years of purchases and respect got me treated like a criminal...

So I go to my favorite corner store (here) about 15 minutes ago to purchase a glass bottle of Mexican Coke and a candy bar. I requested for a bag to put the things in that included my pocket pie from my favorite food truck as I was riding by bike. I didn’t realize he had given me a bag with a massive hole in the bottom, so about 10 pedals away from the store the Coca-Cola falls through the massive hole in the plastic bag I was given and smashes across the sidewalk. I didn’t think this would be a big deal to just come back in with the broken shards and the bag with a clearly defined hole in the bottom and request a different bag and Coca-Cola bottle to put in it. Not only did the young man behind the counter not even offer me a new bag he refused to allow me too replace the broken bottle with another that still was intact. Is this considered good customer...

Every time I go into this little piece of heaven I fall in love again. Yeah there's a great selection. Yeah they have a smoke shop. Yeah. But that beauty they have working the register assaults my senses just the way I like it. My heart burns for you the way it does for Haribo berries and rice Krispy treats. I'm sure you have some lamo boyfriend that wears skinny jeans and plays a whole lot of Minecraft. I'm sure he looks great in his vintage Nirvana t-shirt that he paid $79 for on Hawthorne. But I look better in the Nirvana t-shirt I bought in 6th grade for $11 . And I still have a pair of jncos to go with it. Drop the zero. Get with a 41 year...
