Target — Local services in Rohnert Park

I had a terrible experience today around 4sh PM at the Target in Rohnert Park, CA. I came in to return some Cat & Jack items, and from the beginning, Stacey—who seemed like a team lead or some type of manager—acted like she didn’t want to help me. Another employee began assisting me but couldn’t find the items in the system right away and set them aside. Then Stacey came over unasked, took over the interaction, and pushed the original rep out of the way.

She told me I couldn’t return the items because they were “manufactured over a year ago.” I pulled up the receipt on my phone, proving I purchased them well within the return window, but she didn’t care. Then she made a rude comment saying, “Next time you need to wash these clothes,” even though I had already washed everything. There was only a tiny stain, and her tone was completely unnecessary.

What really pushed me over the edge was when she said, “We need to hurry up because I have places and things to do.” That was completely unprofessional. I wasn’t rude, loud, or disrespectful I stayed calm the entire time and just wanted to return items according to policy. I ended up walking out without finishing the return because the whole experience felt humiliating and honestly discriminatory.

I called Target customer service right after, and they said they’d look into it and give me a call back. I know Target no longer has a DEI policy, but that doesn’t give employees the right to treat non-Caucasian customers with disrespect and condescending behavior. This was extremely frustrating and...

My experience of Marcus in the cell phone department was horrible. He gave misinformation regarding the return period on new cell phones that could have cost me a lot of money, and then denied accountability and refused to own up to his mistake.

I asked Marcus about the return policy, and when I expressed skepticism and insisted he show me the Target cell phone return policy in writing, Marcus then looked up the details in the Verizon brochure. The fine print in the brochure made it clear that he was totally wrong and had been unknowingly misleading customers about the length of the no-cost return period - which for Verizon is only 3 days, not 14 days as he and every other Target cell phone rep I spoke with that day had told me.

Marcus then rudely objected when I mentioned it was pretty uncool that he and the people he supervised had been giving out misinformation that could end up costing customers a whole lot of money, as if I was the one who had done something wrong!

Unbelievable.

Do NOT buy cell phones at Target. The sales people don't know what they're doing, and don't care about doing the right thing. AVOID...

I just wanted to take time to write a review regarding one of Target's employees. On Friday, October 23, 2020 at around 2 PM, I was trying to buy a new pressure cooker. I waited in housewares, press the signal button, and waited for about 10 to 15 minutes. (I know, it’s not that long, I was more annoyed that the signal button wasn’t working. It kept timing out).

I went up to the front desk, the exchanges and returns desk, and asked Stephanie how long it usually takes to get help at the housewares department. I explained my situation, and instead of passing me off to someone else, she basically found the two items I was looking for in 2 minutes, had them brought up in 5, and apologized for my long wait. Basically straight up handled it like a boss!

I was most impressed with how well she handled the situation. Yes, I found my pressure cooker, so it was a happy ending for me. But she took decisive action, owned it, and saw it through to the end. From a management and business perspective, that’s outstanding!!
