I met with Mr.Cherry for a FREE consultation on whether I should file bankruptcy or not. He was very professional but did have clients overlapped and had to help another client while I waited in his office during the consultation. He told me I had to give a minimum of $100 to “retain” him. I had $500 at that time and so I decided to write him a check for that amount. I had some questions when working on the HUGE packet he asked me to fill out. I did not get any responses so I decided maybe I chose wrong. The one time he responded was when I asked how I make any other payments. He had not cashed my $500 check as of then, which was about a month after our consultation. I decided to text him and let him know that I decided to not file with him. He cashed my check that night and then when I contacted him he told me, well I spent an hour with you so I won’t give you your $500 back and if you decide to file you will have a credit. I decided to go with another attorney, George Burke, and he was much more affordable, very responsive and helpful during the entire process and took MUCH less time to file then what Mr. Cherry told me.
