Enchanted on Pickering Wharf is one of Salem’s most atmospheric shops, blending the city’s maritime history with its magickal reputation. Tucked near the water, its blue façade and ornate sign welcome visitors into a space filled with warm light and shelves lined with spiritual tools and handcrafted goods. It’s the kind of store that feels less like shopping and more like stepping into another world. Inside, you’ll find candles, crystals, herbs, oils, and jewelry—many crafted by local artisans. The shop is also home to work by Laurie Cabot, Salem’s famed “Official Witch,” and her family. Beyond the shelves, Enchanted offers psychic and tarot readings, along with classes rooted in the Cabot witchcraft tradition. Visitors describe it as both a retail stop and an immersive experience in Salem’s living magickal culture. What makes Enchanted special is the way it balances authenticity with approachability. Whether you’re a seasoned practitioner or a curious traveler, the store invites exploration at your own pace. It’s part of what keeps Salem more than a tourist town—it’s a place where history, belief, and creativity continue to thrive. #SalemMA #witchcity #enchanted #magickshop #newengland

I really love visiting Enchanted. They have a bunch of good quality herbs, handmade oils and other goodies. Also a great selection of books and a Hekate statue that I pray in front of every time I go. Next time you’re there, purchase Laurie’s potion oils! They are decanted from the mother bottles that are on the very top of the shelves. Such an interesting and amazing fact. đŸȘ„đŸŠ„ I bought the Power of the Witch oil 🧙my hubby got his first tarot deck too. The vibe was so good in here. The last photo is before they did a light remodel.

Mandy is a phenomenal reader, connecting with her felt very natural and comfortable, her rising sign is my moon sign, and her moon sign is my rising sign, so there was an interesting connection in dynamic there. I really appreciated her insights and strongly recommend. I got the clarity I needed. Of course, I love the store, Lorie is a legend who has made such a profound impact on our witchcraft community, I love the oils and blends and blessed candles, and all of the things. I appreciate you thanks for existing. Thank you

If I could give the store a zero I would but because of the limitations of the site, I am forced to give it a one.

I am absolutely disgusted in the way I was treated and would not recommend this place to anyone. In fact I would consider these people scam artists and charlatans and not worthy of the craft they profess themselves to be masters of.

In August of this year I purchased a reading with Lori Cabot (the owner of the store) for October. We planned my trip to Salem around this reading. A few days before the reading I was informed Lori was sick and would have to cancel. I was saddened but felt it had to have been meant to be and we still continued on with our trip was planned. I was so excited to visit her store and couldn't wait for it to open. In fact we were the first ones inside the store on Sunday and had been waiting outside for quite some time before hand. It was the first store I went into in Salem. Even though I wasn't getting the reading I had already paid for I still had saved up close to $500 And I was so excited to spend it on items that had been blessed or created by Lori. When I actually got in the store I was very taken aback by how rude the people working at her store were. They were not nice at all, they were not helpful, and in fact they were blatantly not interested in helping me or in the money that I was planning on spending. Before I left the store I asked the manager Chris when he would be refunding everyone's money for readings that they were not being given because of her illness and I was told I would receive my money on Tuesday.

After leaving Enchanted we visited Crows Haven because I knew that was Lori's former store and was still in her family (owned by Cousin). There I was greeted by her cousin who was more than willing to not only help me but when she learned of how I have been treated at enchanted and the fact that my reading had been canceled and how disappointed I was she actually gave me $50 off of my purchases that day. She was very kind very helpful and very apologetic for something that wasn't even her issue in the first place. I had a wonderful experience at Crows Haven and would definitely recommend them to anybody seriously involved in the craft of Wicca.

To continue my ordeal with enchanted, It is currently Saturday I have called the store multiple times, and sent them emails. Nobody will speak with me on the phone or return my calls or emails. I am furious and disgusted because I still have not received my money back. I keep getting told things like oh we don't have a manager today or I have no idea when anybody who knows anything will be in today. And to add insult to injury, I was actually told by one of these idiots working for her that it's Halloween time and we're super busy. I actually told the guy so you're too super busy to give me back my money you took for a Reading I never had but you weren't too super busy to take my money two months ago, what's up with that. To that he replied I don't know what to tell you miss and hung up the phone.

I am saddened to have to give this place such a negative review because I truly am such a believer and lover of Lori. I was so excited to meet her but not being able to meet her I was at least excited to go to her store. I am not now! I will never set foot in any place owned by her ever again nor will I recommend it to any of my fellow Wiccans. Crows Haven is my go to for anything...

Hi ! Myself and my daughter both had a reading with Edward Nov 19. First let me say I have been a reader for 45 years and a previous owner of a spiritual store in Connecticut . I went first with Edward , I could see he was struggling with giving a reading and when I told him I was also a reader he became annoyed . By the end of the reading I realized I had wasted $40. my daughter (24) went next . When she came out of the reading she was upset . It seemed Because Edward disliked me he took it out on my daughter during her reading . He told her I hold her back in life and if she didn’t move away out of state she would also have health problems . He also told her she would never find love again because of me . I would ruin everything in her life . That was just a few things ! There was more negativity .

Thankfully my daughter is a confident intelligent young woman who has a masters degree along with a job at a local university . I guess I didn’t hold her back too badly .

Like I said I pride myself on my authenticy as a reader and would never never deliver messages like he did to anyone. That is beyond irresponsible . As a former store owner I was always diligent in who read in my store , I was smart enough to know reputation is everything . I also know the impact a reading can have on someone good or bad. Harm none .

I have been to your store several times I had readings with heather who I adore as does my daughter . She is not only gifted but she is authentic as well. So this was very unexpected .

We contemplated coming back for a refund but we figured we take it with a grain of salt , chalk it up to life and move on .

Shame on him to give a reading to someone who put their trust in him . I would hope as a business owner you would address this matter . Toxic readers will bring down your establishment . Denise...

The store itself was absolutely amazing and dare I day it...."enchanting." Even the front of the shop staff were absolutely wonderful! I wish I had left it at that and walked out. However, I decided to ha e some fun and do a psychic reading. As a skeptic, but a person who has friends that identify as witches, and friends who do amazing readings, my partner told me not to do it. But "when in Rome."

Mark was the person doing my reading. Within the first 5 mins of a 30 minute session I was ready to go but since I paid, I figured I see it through. Wrong choice. Filled with assumptions based on racial profiling, he at one point channeled an older woman, presumably black, stated waving his hands, saying "hallelujah" in what he associated with being Baptist and asked if I had an older woman that passed that was religious. With a dead pan faced I said no. My grandmother (which anyone could have naturally guesses I had and had passed) was the furthest thing away from a religious person. And no one in my family was Baptist.

I continued on in amusement feeding him somethings because I felt bad for him, but there were many moments in the reading where he just plucked things out of the air based of who he assumed I was. It was a terrible "reading" that left a bad taste in my mouth for people who probably genuinely come to him looking for answers. I'm not sure if he was high but the racial antics weren't amusing.

Again, the store itself was beautiful, great shop. I'd stay away from these "physics" . At least Mark. Wasn't sure if he was high during the reading ( coming from Washington State I really don't care) but maybe dial it back during...
