A shop for a range of tastes. If you're in Salem then you probably already have a little streak of goth and grue, so this shop's for you. As you walk in, the lovely scents of spices and soaps surrounds you. The shop is spacious but with subdued lighting, and the main colors are grey and black with vivid spots of sweet pastels to liven it up. Hive and Forge is for those of us who want the tone and scent and feel but not the cramped spaces and icons. Come for the wonderful soaps and scents, the jewelry and shirts, and as side dish of sweet herbs. They Also carry a nice line of CBD products for your aches and pains.

To get there, go to Salem center - thou shalt know it by its traffic- and drive or walk up to Church St. Take a right. It's next to a brew pub. If you drove, there's metered parking nearby and a longer term lot. Forge and Hive is wheelchair accessible, with nice, roomy aisles. The staff is really nice and very helpful. They are proud of their store and their goods and happy to help you find weird and wonderful things to take home with you. They accept cash, credit, and debit. We were told by several people in the community that we had to stop by Hive & Forge—and they were absolutely right. This shop is a total treasure trove of spooky cuteness and eclectic magic!

It has the perfect blend of dark whimsy and artisan charm. We were instantly pulled in by the incredible smells coming from the soap section, and yes… we adopted a ghost in a bottle (no regrets). 🕯️👻

Their collection is beautifully curated—featuring local artists and makers, but everything is displayed in a way that feels organic and elevated, not flea market-ish at all. Think apothecary-meets-haunted-boutique with a side of mystical flair.

They had some really unique men’s button-down shirts that caught our eye, and I couldn’t resist the gorgeous jewelry—I ended up purchasing several pieces that I’m totally in love with. Everything felt one-of-a-kind and meaningful.

The woman working inside was super sweet and helpful, happy to chat and share info on the makers and items in the store.

This is one of the very best shops in Salem. It’s full of handmade art from local artisans. The work ranges from the light to the dark, with strange, weird, and unique wares also on display. There’s a lot to take in. There are affordable unique gifts and collectibles, tarot decks you might not see anywhere else, and certainly one of a kind handmade jewelry, clothing, and art that you won’t see anywhere else.
