Dexterity Salon — Local services in Salt Lake City

I went here for the first time today. Ken was my stylist and she listened to everything I asked for. She even directed me on how to style, which products to use, and the best ways to maintain the haircut afterward :’) she was such an angel. I already booked a second appointment for a bang cut (which is free!!) and a color. My bangs turned out so cute!!

Edit: came back to add photos of the color Ken did. I have received so many compliments. She spent 5 HOURS carefully sectioning and microsectioning my hair to get this beautiful collection of orange/red/brown. She did such an amazing job yet again. All the gals were so nice and helped me pick out even more products. They don’t push the products at all; I asked for help and guidance. My hair has never been healthier or shinier than it is now. Ken is now my permanent hair gal. Won’t be going anywhere else.

Double edit: she even dyed my eyebrows just the right amount. I swear to god she’s a magician.

Final update! I see Ken every 6-10 weeks and she redid my roots this time around. And where is the band around the already colored hairs? Nowhere!!! Ken is a magician!! She has my color on file (on file????), she and the lovely salon manager, Sam, got me all the products I love (yet again) and my hair looks and feels so much softer than when we started. This whole hair journey has been aided by Ken. My hair is growing out again, it’s gorgeous, and it’s soft. I’m so grateful for these ladies and this salon. Truly so grateful.

Edit: added another color from 6/28/24 at the end. Ken has tried different combinations of highlights and lowlights and I love this one because it looks like this is my natural hair! I highly recommend her for red coloring and I can only imagine how great she is with others!

Wait… one last edit (05/14/25): the last two photos show the difference between 07/04/2023 and today. My hair used to be piece-y, scraggly, and thin. She truly saved my hair and my confidence by giving keratin treatments, advising on products, cutting on a regular basis, and keeping me away from the box dye. I can’t believe she made such magic happen. I cannot recommend her enough after all...

Randi is just so skilled with cut and color. She’s literally more like a color artist. She is continually going to classes and staying up-to-date and educated on any and all new techniques. She takes her profession very seriously and wants to provide a quality cut and color to a very happy customer. She really knows what works for both my hair and my style and I trust her. She’s also accommodating and friendly. They are also very easy to work with if something comes up and you have to change appointments. I feel like Sam works very hard to make sure and work with my schedule. There is not one person in the salon that would disappoint you. They are all so professional and kind and I really feel like they care about the people they serve. I have literally referred dozens and dozens of people to Dexterity. There is not one person that has come to them from my referral and been disappointed. In fact, they all continue coming back over and over. Dexterity is a beautiful, yet simple, clean, professional and continually up-to-date salon. It has everything I would and could ever want to feel cared about, pleased, safe and like I’m a priority, as are the friends and family I have referred when it comes to my hair health, style and safety. Every time I come to dexterity and see Jeff and of course Sam and Tara (if she happens to be around) it brightens my whole day. There’s such great vibes in dexterity. Jeff is a master of his trade that’s for sure, and leads his team so well. He’s a true artist who you can count on to always keep things fresh and current with your style. Not to mention he is so warm and welcoming. Today we took probably 8-10 inches off and I love it!! Dexterity is the best investment you can make in yourself. Love love LOVE the Dex fam!
