This is one of those unfindable gems in life that's best for tourists or those just passing through to oooh and ahhh over, and leave good memories behind. In reality, for natives and locals it's a "spiritual" offering with significant flaws. It's afflicted by the tried and true loss of "simple and direct" or "keep it simple stupid" — instead trading in age old wisdom for extensive web page chatter and directions that are challenging to get through and process all in one sitting...Automatically causing the reader to put off exploring or taking yoga classes here, because there are so many commands to remember and integrate. I highly suspect this Chicago owner is a midwest "Type A" personality. EVERYTHING has to be done through an app. They don't answer the phone, and email takes a few days for the elite class to get back to you. This represents the flawed side of spirituality — or spiritual materialism / faux spirituality. The human is removed from its natural call of duty and intrinsic earthly chore schedule — in this case, to serve the whims of elite white society, and their fantasies of entitlement from bother or interruption by other people. Digitizing society was not a step toward ultimate human evolution — From a bird's eye view, it actually served a very different and specific purpose...Further freeing the upper (majorly white yet often brown in this region) tier of humanity from their own labor, and giving them more evolved tools to wield control over others, with which to generate faster passive and disposable income — maintaining their hierarchical birthright. If you're coming from 20 or 30 minutes away to practice yoga here — you're left with driving to this studio to ask a question. Hmmm. Read the "Late Cancel & Missed Class Policy". This policy represents shameless, unconscionable greed for a yoga studio or spiritual practice. With no unclear messagery, they're letting you know that if you miss a class you've ALREADY PAID FOR — YOU DO NOT GET THAT CLASS OR A REFUND. OK — But in addition to your misfortune that's 100% PAID FOR — they command an ADDITIONAL FEE purely for missing the class. This is a non–sensical unconsciously elite technique, with zero logic and projections of pure greed. What additional labor or expense did you incur by someone missing their class ? The class was paid for — FULL STOP. You don't then demand additional capital for another's misfortune, in missing a class they already paid you for. You got your money — FULL STOP. Don't add insult to injury. THERE IS ZERO MENTION OF LOCKER ROOMS OR SHOWERS ON THE WEBSITE...OR IN ANY REVIEWS ! WTF. Major oversight for such a large and upscale offering to not mention or disclose locker room facilities or amenities — to any seeking to practice yoga here. The SD locals only new student special is gracious — but it would be even more graceful to offer some kind of across–the–board special to visitors and tourists. Southern California sits at an apex of U.S. wealth, making expenses here more digestible for locals — but less so for the vast majority of U.S. vacationers and visitors — who don't often get hit with our pricing tiers, nor experience them as affordable. This keeps California, and all it's very real progress and evolution, inaccessible for a country that deeply...

Read moreI found trilogy sanctuary shortly before wrapping up a couple of month stay in the area and fell in love with it! atmosphere is great, food is great, manager Keith? (I think that was his name) was so kind, and the yoga was excellent.. here to write a review for Taylor, whose classes stood out to me.
I take yoga classes all over the country and haven't had a class that felt this good in a while! Taylor's sequence/flow made intuitive sense in the body and was challenging and also totally accessible. She even messed up a side and rather than let it rattle her, she redirected it into a creative fun way to mix things up and ultimately balanced the sides out. (as a yoga teacher myself, i was very impressed!)
She expertly incorporated the breath in her class (in my opinion the most important thing!), gave really informed hands-on assists, and offered new fun ways to increase body awareness and proprioception, like placing the hands on certain parts of the body for self-assisted feedback. i always love being introduced to new ways to get into my body and help others to do the same.
Also what stood out maybe the most is that, as a single student out of probably 15 or 20, i felt like she was teaching directly to me, for me. i felt very seen and like i could completely let go and trust her to lead. i was able to be completely present, not thinking about anything else, for the entire class, which is such a gift.
Taylor seemed to be in total flow when teaching and I felt lucky to get to experience her classes. Obviously, I...
