Over the past 2 years, my journey has been nothing short of transformative. Beginning as a complete novice (in Danny's Tuesday night online class), I've progressed from beginner classes to master class prep, gaining confidence, technical skills, and industry knowledge along the way. One of the standout aspects of First Take is, in fact, its adaptability—having the ability to take classes via Zoom has allowed me to train consistently, regardless of my location or reason. Beyond acting technique, the school prioritizes mental health and confidence building, ensuring that students feel safe to explore vulnerability in their performances. The audition opportunities provided have been invaluable, giving me firsthand experience in applying my training in real-world scenarios. I just finished 6 years of training with Danny K Lai and now I am moving up to Master Prep Class. First Takes a holistic approach. Acting is about finding yourself and being you. It took me time to do that and build confidence. Now I'm rapping, dancing and singing at kareoake bars. I'm starting my own films and will be featured in a new Indie film thanks to Danny. Danny has always taught us to be ourselves and that we are enough. He has always been a great life mentor. Always takes the time out of his schedule to help you and puts you first. He sees you as a whole person, not a character. All he wants is the best for you.

I have discovered through my journey, there isn't a single thing you can't do if you put your mind to it. You are enough if you believe it. Bring it on. I have zero doubts about myself now and know who I am. Would never happen if it wasn't for Danny's class. Danny tells you the truth when it comes to your scene, but does it with love and will adjust you accordingly. Forget about chasing the glamour, it's about the joy you get from the craft and the inspiration you give to others. You gotta enjoy it and be ready to grow at your pace. Nothing can make you more happy than succeeding in something that you enjoy.

But you must be willing to put in the work and learn how to have fun. There are no shortcuts and I encourage everyone to focus on their journey. It's a never ending journey of learning and improving. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I studied at First Take Acting School for about five years, from 2018 to 2023, and it was one of the most transformative experiences of my life, both personally and professionally. I initially joined the core class with Danny to become more confident and articulate in work meetings, but it quickly evolved into something much deeper.

Danny was my very first acting coach, and I couldn’t have asked for a better foundation. He’s an incredible teacher, director, and just an all-around amazing human being who genuinely cares about his students. His guidance gave me the tools to grow not only as a performer but as a communicator.

After some time in the core class, I was lucky enough to be recommended by Danny for the master class with Nancy. That experience took things to the next level. Nancy is a powerhouse, she’s highly respected in the industry, deeply committed to her students’ growth, and pushes you to bring your absolute best. The environment was competitive in the best way, it made me want to rise to the occasion every week.

While the master class was intense (especially balancing it with a full-time job), it was also incredibly rewarding. Eventually, I shifted back to the core class to better manage my time, but I’m so thankful I had the chance to be in both.

Whether in-person or online (I experienced both, especially during COVID), the training was consistently high-quality. I met amazing people and made lasting friendships.
