Monroe has done something special for me. After leaving a cutthroat career and with unemployment payments running out, I still was not ready for a permanent job. It is a real small shop, but Monroe found me several short gigs (1-30 days), though I had to stay financially prepared since they were not constant.

Monroe also used my feedback from each gig to better shape each experience it gave me. Monroe has always treated me with dignity...something often lost in work environments. I got to see different offices, altruistic events, and otherwise inaccessible industries. If I did not like something about a gig---6:00am start, long commute, crazy person, etc.---knowing it is just temporary made all the difference.

The best part is that I proved to myself I can do great work and fully satisfy managers. I can finish each gig gracefully, and my overall confidence has been allowed to return. Not to mention some gigs ask Monroe if I can return!

Temp work is surprisingly underrated, even if you are in transition. You do not do it to get rich. Yet you can do it for the positive exposure and structure it gives you. Since Monroe is my best source of that, I hope to work through them...
