I’ve been eating here every week (sometimes twice) for 6+ months. I have high expectations for Indian food (not South Asian btw, but I used to live in Fremont where that’s all you eat) and this place delivers every timeeeeee !! I order via doordash so I cannot speak on the dine-in experience, but I call after I place a digital order so they can make my order extra, extra spicy and they fulfill my request every time (they do not make it Indian level spicy tho just fyi, i don’t got the accent for that). And the prices cannot be beat + there are ALWAYS leftovers. This is my personal favorite restaurant in the whole city, it has been consistent and great quality always, it genuinely feels like a treasure to have such affordable, delicious food every week. I get the same order every time as well, a mix of the same 3 dishes:
Chicken Biryani Palak Paneer Paneer Tikka Masala
Their naan bread is so so, but tastes delicious w the tikka masala. I don’t think it’s the best Tikka masala i’ve ever had either, but something about the sweetness/creaminess of it keeps me re-ordering it.
The chicken biryani is the 2nd best I’ve ever had (Chaat Cafe in Fremont had my personal fav, but they closed down 💔). If I only have $15 to my name THIS is what I’d order. Only thing I’d add is a boiled egg, but flavor wise nothing is missing imo.
And the palak paneer is very savory and a rich flavor. Just tasty asf.
Stick to what u like and I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. This restaurant has made a lifelong customer outta me. Compliments to the...
Read moreFamily of 5 dined in for the first time. It's a small place, not great decor. You order and then seat yourself and self-serve plates, utensils and drinks. We ordered alot of different dishes. Everything was delicious! There wasn't one thing we didn't like. Each dish had its own unique flavor of different spices. One person thought the food was a bit too salty, but overall was happy.
The only downside to this place is that the filthy bathroom is downstairs. It was a dangerous hazard to even get through the door without falling down the stairs. Once at the bathroom, the door was covered with so much caked-on black dirt that I was afraid to close the door🤮. Then the wall where the hand dryer is was the same😖! I don't think the door and wall has been cleaned in years😵. The rest if the bathroom was ok and the upstairs food area was also fine.
I would eat here again, but...
Read moreUpdate: So I made a mistake and ordered lunch via UberEats from this place..Chicken Tikka Masala (anyplace I ate this dish was good, except Raavi). The dish was horrible. It came with 6 to 7 tiny-to-small chicken bites. No sides come with the $11 dish, so added Basmati rice for $2 and Garlic Naan for an extra $2.50. The Chicken Tikka Masala was horrible. Not Recommended. Overpriced too. Photos added.
Food: Chicken Tikka Masala. The absolute worst tasting Chicken Tikka Masala I ever had, and I ate this dish in many Indian restaurants over the years. In addition, the portion was small and only had a number of chicken bits and pieces.
Service: Start at the order counter to place order and pay. Order is brought to the table by a staff member.
Place looks run down and can use better upkeep, or better yet, an all around renovation.
