Perfection Nails Salon — Local services in San Francisco

This review is long overdue because I've been going here on and off since it opened. So my rating is an average of all the times I've been but my last appointment was 1 star and I'm fed up. I stopped going here a while back because the old owners had too many issues, like they literally forgot about me with a bag of paraffin wax on my feet once. When the new management took over, I returned and it was way better. But they're just like the previous owners now and rush and try to fit too many people in. I had an appointment at 4:30 and when I got there they were busy so I asked if I would be done by 5:30. It was my finance's birthday and we had reservations. They said yes. At 4:50 they hadn't even gotten to me yet so I got up to leave. But then they started on my gel pedicure and I told them they could skip the manicure because I really needed to leave at 5:30. They insisted I'd be done at 5:30. I wasn't done at 5:30, I was done at 5:40 and was exactly 10 minutes late to my reservation because of this. I'm not normally pushy and have waited so many times here but it was actually important for me to leave on time. I don't appreciate the dishonesty. If you're running late just say so and respect your customer's time. Oh and I still got charged full price plus 20% tip even though they rushed, my manicure and pedicure are both terrible/incomplete, and they made me late! They could have skipped the manicure like I asked (or, idk, started on time...) and I would go back but since they insisted and messed up my plans I'm never going here again. Too bad, they were doing good for a while but it's just like it was before now. It sucks to write this because I live really close but there are so many other choices in this neighborhood...

Made an appointment around 3pm for my sister and I for 630pm. We got there at 615 the place was full and the staff asked what we wanted, I said I made an appointment for 6:30 one of the ladies was okay just wait. We waited about 30 minutes when one of the staff says that if we can come back the following day because they are too busy. I reminded her again that I had made an appointment ealier today. She said we can only do the manicure and you come back tomorrow. I said that I couldn't come back tomorrow she just looked at me and said sorry to busy today. If she had told me that they were to busy when I made the appointment or when I got to the salon instead of making me wait 30 to 40 minutes tell me that they can't do it anymore and what bother me the most if the way they looked at my sister and like we weren't going to pay or something. They took a walk in right when we got there too. Why did they say no to them ? Really disappointed. Won't be...

I usually don't leave reviews but today I am. I have never returned to a nail salon in the city bc it's usually overpriced for the quality I receive. Not only is this one of the most affordable places I've been to it's hands down the best and now I have a place I will regularly come to. They are very hygienic and neat, no hidden costs, they are precise and genuinely care about feedback, and very sweet. I would specifically recommend Mai. I came close to closing and she generously stayed open longer to squeeze me in and finish my nails. Even keeping her 30 mins late (I'm so sorry girl😭) my experience was not rushed and they came out absolutely perfect!! I got them done last minute to see my ex... Mai THANK YOU girl you saved my...
