Quite possibly San Francisco's best beer bar

As a craft beer lover, I can honestly say that this is one of the best places in all of the city to enjoy an impressive selection of fine craft beer on tap as well as an equally impressive selection of bottles available for takeaway or consumption on premise. The bar is spotless and has ample seating and has a couple of big screens for catching the big game, or choosing your next your next round. On my last visit, I enjoyed some very special barrel aged beers that were no longer in production and typically very hard to find on draft. The only disadvantage is that there is no food option - with only some bar snacks on offer. However they will let you bring your own food or even have delivery options & recommendations for pairing your beer with and your dining cravings. Will definitely be back on my next trip...

This is one of my favorite taprooms in the city, but I don't get over there very often because I normally stay in North Beach and it isn't super convenient to get over to Liquid Gold. However, I was staying downtown on my last trip and made the easy walk over. The selection of beer is always top notch and this visit was no different. I had a hazy double from Fieldwork in Berkley called Virtual Planetoid that was so good I had two, which is pretty unusual when I go to a taproom, because I like to try as many things as possible. Some great experiences had here over the years. Not only do they serve great beer with an abundance of options, but the bartenders are good company and it attracts tourists from around the world. My most memorable night here is chatting with a man from the Netherlands. We shared beers and connected through Untapped. Connecting through the love of beer. Who would’ve thought? Having such a selection allowed me to share a beer from one of my favorite breweries with my newfound friend (Ale Apothecary). Every time I am in San Francisco I stop by and have a beer or two.
