Went on Indigenous holiday. I ordered curry pork chow fun, was brown color. I knew something was off since I know curry should be yellow. The sauce wasn’t like it was 5 years ago the last time I was there, in fact it tasted as bad as one of our friend’s curry, I always toss his out when he gives it to us. There wasn’t enough fun, wasn’t balanced with the amount of pork. My partner’s minced beef was too salty and wasn’t any sauce on it. Very dry. The spinach was too chewy and I had to spit it out as I couldn’t swallow, it lest it stopped up my wind pipe. Our friend asked for a chow fun takeout with ginger added for his wife. He got home but there wasn’t any ginger inside the box. . The place is filthy. I sat against the wall and there was an ant crawling, yuk! The edge of the wall was full of dirt and the carpet was dirty. They need to do a thorough cleaning. My friend was taken aback by the waiter giving him a device to press for the tips. He got confused and he didn’t know there’s an option for “other”. He regretted giving too much tip. The waiter didn’t ask us if we needed anything. We had to ask for more napkins as our’s was all soaked up with the curry sauce. We’re going to Empero Taste on I know they serve decent “yellow” curry chow fun. NO restaurant could be worse than this place! The ownership changed and the cook is not the same one five years ago, obviously. The glory days are over for this establishment! Will never return. Many good Chinese restaurants in the city, don’t waste your money, you’ll be...
Read moreThis place is a disaster. The waiter was barely able to speak English, and when we ordered a side of rice he bring an entire entree instead. He realized his mistake and took it off the bill which was great, and that would have been it. Unfortunately it wasn’t. All the food they brought out were insane portions, each plate probably enough to feed a family of 4. My girlfriend got the Tomato beef chow mein which had undercooked beef, and you can tell they buy the worst possible quality of meat from the first bite. It was chewy and did not taste natural. The sauce on the noodles was overly sweet to the point of being a dessert, so we couldn’t have more than two bites as it was incredibly overwhelming. The waiter never came over during our dinner once to check in, so my girlfriend didn’t end up eating a thing as she couldn’t ask for something else. Finally the waiter came over to give us the receipt, and when we mentioned the mountain of untouched noodles to him, he called his boss over who proceeded to get angry at us(???) And didn’t offer any sort of apology. Avoid this place like the plague, there’s a ton of other Chinese places that can provide much better service and quality of food...
Read moreWe went here for dinner tonight after noticing the local patrons who seemed to appreciate the food here. Bc the menu is so vast, we chose the prix fixe C for dinner, choosing for main dishes the Mongolian beef and also the Chicken w mushrooms. And chow mein chow fun. Everything was delicious!!! I esp loved the Mongolian beef dish, which came with onions & green onions, which are key for helping digest the meat. The sizzling rice soup was so good. It was so much food and served quickly. I heard from a neighbor that their lunch buffet is also really good. Definitely will return with more people to have a good dinner!
Photos were taken after we'd started eating bc we couldn't wait 😅
Personally, I even ate the fortune cookies which I liked bc it included words to...
