Pay A LOT of attention to the PRICES when you ask for the check. I think mistakes can happen and I really dislike giving so bad reviews for places like the Brixton. But what happened in the past two weeks is not acceptable. I went with a group of friends to watch the Brazilian matches in the World Cup. (I will skip the fact that the team of waiters was not well trained, a table was offered to us and we had to leave the table in the middle of the game because someone has reserved). What can't happen is to trick the consumer. Last week, I ordered, among other things, 2 Lagunitas (in the menu they were 6 dollars each). When the check arrived, one Lagunitas was $7 and the other $8. I asked the waiter to correct it and I thought it was everything right. Today, I came back there to watch a game again. And, again, they charge me $8 for a $6 Lagunita. I asked them to bring the correct check. Now, I'm at home checking my bank account, and guess what? In both cases, they didn't correct. I actually pay more (and Im already including all the tax + service). A friend of mine said that they didn't bring the full check to him, only the final amount to pay. It's definitely not a lot of money, but it's the kind of behavior that is unacceptable. For the future consumers, pay attention! For the owner, be free to get in touch with me and explain what happened and, of course, give...
Read moreMy parents and I came in for today on 04/19 after an art exhibit at a hotel a few blocks away. Our food was good, took a while to come out. Our server however, she never once checked up on us. We had to flag her down 3 times. 2 times to ask to refill our drinks and the 3rd time was to get our bill. She seemed more interested in the people that were spending lots of money on food and drinks. She was very dismissive. She checked up on a table that wasn't even hers on multiple occasions and never on us. Someone needs better training. I'm in the industry and I thought this was completely horrible service and extremely rude. The staff honestly seemed to care more about those who spent more money. You shouldn't treat the other customers and differently because they're not ordering a bunch of alcoholic drinks and food. No one there was really nice. The atmosphere is nice. I love the pictures they have up ok their walls tho. This restaurant does get loud tho due to the fact that it's more for like watching sports and getting drunk and being extremely loud, if you don't like that, this is not the place for you. Especially if you want to have a nice conversation. I'd probably come back, but definitely not for a while. They closed down for a while a long time ago. Completely different menu. More Japanese themed but still had their...
Read moreAfter a wonderful weekend in San Fran visiting my sister, we were hoping to end off the trip with a nice dinner on this beautiful Saturday afternoon. We pulled up to the Brixton and were initially surprised… why so empty? We gave the empty restaurant the benefit of the doubt and we’re excited because we thought this would turn into a quick and quiet meal. The two waitresses almost appeared to sigh when we walked in, and it took them a solid 3 minutes to tell us that we had to seat ourselves. We took a seat and we’re given some water and the menu’s. We browsed the menu’s fairly quickly, since the menu is the smallest I’ve seen in years. We knew what we wanted, and waited patiently for the waitress to return. We would look over and see the waitresses gossip in their little corner while completely ignoring us. After a solid 20 minutes and all our water completely chugged, we had to make the decision to get up from the table and leave the restaurant. They didn’t even notice, which is shocking because we were like the only ones in the bare restaurant. If you are looking for a solid cup of water and to be ignored for 20 minutes, I’d recommend this place. However, if you are hoping to order a meal and get good service, I’d advise you stay far away. Do...
