We decided to stop by this place on a whim. The atmosphere was lively, so it must be good, right? The service was very friendly, which i can appreciate, but we anticipated the food! Afterall, their menu sounded delicious! I'll give a break down of why this restaurant food got a 2-star review: -Burrata ($19): it was clearly cheap, as it had the consistency of a hard boiled egg with yogurt inside. Paired with 2 slices of very soggy bread and 2 different compotes (?). -Fried artichokes ($16): skip it. However, the lemon aioli was great! -Meatballs($16): they were very, very uniform in texture and consistency, which led me to believe they were frozen, which people could get over if it wasnt overall so bland. -Mafaldine Ragu ($27): it came out looking cold(and it was), whilst the pasta was overcooked. Sauce lacked flavor. -Burrata & coppa pizza ($22): it was honestly not bad, but it was entirely soggy in the middle! Maybe these issue are within the kitchen staff. Also, something that kinda ruined the atmosphere was the owners children running around, screaming and intruding on tables while people were trying to eat. We heard the table next to us get approached several times by the children, who at some point blew a whistle. It was a bit hectic, especially for such a busy night! The host and waiters were very friendly and attentive! They even revised our check and even offered us mini sorbet! Great concept and we'd love to come back when the...

We dined on May 28 around 4:30 pm, seated in the main dining room right in front of the bar. The table wobbled significantly, and this was never addressed—first strike. The restaurant door was open; it was windy and chilly outside, so we and other patrons had to keep our jackets on. Second strike.
Our server was very friendly but quite absent; when he was in the dining area, he was often facing away or inattentive. We ordered a chopped salad and arancini as starters—very delicious and served promptly. I also had a glass of Pecorino.
When we finished our starters, the plates remained on the table for almost 20 minutes. The main courses sat on the counter for almost 10 minutes, and the server seemed too busy to deliver them (there was only one new table outside). Water glasses were empty, and my wine glass was empty as well. The food was finally served, not warm enough at that point (after sitting on the counter plus the open door), and it took them until we finished eating to refill our water glasses and ask if I wanted another glass of wine. Too late for that. We were never asked about the food, the experience, or anything, giving me no opportunity to provide feedback. I don't know how many strikes at this point… I haven't had an experience like this in so long. It's a shame for such good food to be presented with such bad service. I don't recommend it.

Read moreA charming new neighborhood Italian restaurant with mediocre food. I recommend only the pizza. The panzanella salad was served with no croutons and the tomatoes were served in oversized chunks literally soaking in balsamic vinegar and oil. I sent it back. The waitress (who was lovely and extremely apologetic) brought me a revised salad that was not much better. They emptied out some of the oil and vinegar but used regular lousy croutons. This is not a panzanella salad but I didn’t have the heart to tell the waitress (even though she knew). I next ordered the cacio y pepe tartufo which was awful. The pasta was again soaked in a thick, heavy cream sauce which had thickened at the bottom of the dish. It was the worst cacio y pepe I’ve ever had. I showed it to the waitress who again apologized. The pizza was great and I would only order pizza here. The brussel sprouts were very good. This is very disappointing because Union Street lost a great Italian restaurant (Pane y Vino) and we all miss that restaurant so much. The service was good and we sat outside which was nice, but I recommend only...
