I bought a Zed-12Fx mixer and Livid OhmRGB from World of Stereo, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. I had previously purchased an APC40 (v1) from Guitar Center's online store, but it arrived damaged and missing a power cable - they had sold me a floor model without disclosing what it was or the damage, and were only willing to knock off a minimal percentage off the price (I think around 10%) when I brought it back and pointed this out. So I said forget it and just returned the APC40 and looked for an alternative. I found the Livid OhmRGB at WoS, the last one I could find on the internet. I called up WoS (I'm on the Eastern US coast) and got ahold of Josh, who was btw off the clock when I got ahold of him. I explained my situation and what I was looking for, and he went in to the store and checked out the equipment for me and answered all my questions over the phone, then helped get it packed up and shipped out that day. We also tried shipping USPS (not their normal carrier) per my request, and he stayed in contact with me through the entire process - even helping get a refund on our shipping costs because USPS did not meet their guaranteed delivery time. Their customer service is beyond top-notch. I highly recommend buying your gear from World of Stereo and supporting their business and the people who...
Read moreTook my DDJ in to get my headphone jack repaired. Without opening up the deck the repair man said the headphone circuit board was broken and quoted me $110 to fix it. His quote felt like it was pulled from thin air, as he never checked for the part number, cost, or extent of damage. Despite feeling ambivalent about the repair in general, I decided to go forward because I needed it fixed asap (I now feel guilty for not doing my own research). The next day I came back to pick up the board and they charged me $188. I reminded them of the $110 quote, and the repair man said that was just the quote for the part, not for labor. To me this felt incredibly misleading as he did not clarify the price breakdown when I brought the DDJ in, simply saying that it'd be fixed for $110. The additional $78 fee for labor also seemed immensely overpriced after realizing the headphone circuit board is removed via a few screws and a few wiring harnesses. As if this wasn't enough, I get home and my crossfader now no longer works!! I brought the deck back in and the repairman said these were unrelated issues when there was clearly a wiring harness that ran from the headphone board to the crossfader!
Lack of transparency and lack of customer service. I would not recommend World of Stereo...
