Señor Murthy’s offers decent chocolates. Truth be told, I’ve purchased items as gifts from them each year for years. The service from the woman who works there has never been particularly friendly, but this year, she was just rude. I waited and waited for her to offer help. She looked at me and, as I started to say something, she looked back down and continued what she was doing. No “hello.” No “May I help you.” Nothing. I waited a bit longer and then finally asked for help. Her huff indicated that I was bothering her. I bought a few pieces and left. No “thanks for shopping here.” Not even a smile.
I went in to make a large purchase (40 1-pound boxes as conference gifts), but decided to wait and return when someone else was there.
When I returned late the next afternoon, I walked through the door and she barked at me that they were closed. Couldn’t she have said it nicely? Couldn’t she have locked the door, if they were closing?
There are other chocolate makers in the area, so I decided to take my business elsewhere and turned out to be a really lovely experience with the place I chose.
