The Honey was amazing. We are on vacation and passed by the store underneath our hotel. Me and my friends bought some honey and hot sauce. We enjoyed all the products and the rest of the staff were amazing but one which apparently seems like the manager. The white girl with super short hair was rude and mean which is one of their “higher up” apparently. She’s suppose to be the one showing the right attitude as an example to the other employees but she’s not and we’re all disappointed and felt she was just not welcoming with other races. She must not like her job with customer service. We were so happy and nice to everyone until she had to ring us up on the counter and set us off leaving the store unhappy cos she said they are closing already and we cannot do business anymore after that two product we bought. It was 6:09 and they close at 6 and we didn’t know. We rushed to get out cos we didn’t want them extending and we really didn’t know the time, honest mistake and we apologize for that. We went back the next day cos we still want to buy honey, but she was still rude, dismissive and laughing on the side trying to insult us i guess and not even dealt with us. She said that night to come back next day to get the promo but when we came back the next morning (11/28 at 11:20am) she said the promo was done only til yesterday and they can’t do it for us anymore. We still bought honey regardless cos the product was great. She’s upsetting and such a disgrace for such an amazing product. The product is 5stars. Our experience with that person...
Read moreI had an absolutely fantastic experience at the Savannah Bee Company on the riverfront! From the moment I walked in, I was warmly welcomed by Omar, a keyholder, whose hospitality immediately set the tone for an enjoyable visit. He made me feel right at home and encouraged me to try some of their delicious honey pairings - honey, with fruits and cheeses, I never would’ve thought to combine, and wow, was I surprised how incredible they tasted! The real highlight of my visit, though, was the mead tasting class with Kirsten, the store manager. She was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and engaging. I tasted six of their meads, and her flavor descriptions were spot on every time. What really elevated the experience were the fascinating backstories she shared about each product - they added such a personal and memorable touch to the tasting. Kirsten clearly knows and loves what she does, and it shows. The store itself offers a wide array of unique and high-quality products, from gourmet honey to skincare, all beautifully displayed and generously sampled. It’s clear the entire staff takes pride in their work, but Kirsten and Omar truly went above and beyond - they absolutely deserve a gold star. If you’re in Savannah, don’t miss this gem of a shop. Whether you’re a honey enthusiast or just looking for a fun, flavorful experience, this...
Read moreThe Savannah Bee Company is a store that offers a wide-variety of bee related products (honey based and/or beeswax based). Different flavors of honey, honey-whip, meads, lip balm, etc...
My wife and I were in Savannah for a week and we stopped into the store on a couple different occasions. The staff were very helpful and friendly. On one of our trips in, where we actually made some purchases and did the mead tasting, they were short staffed that day. The employees did a great job bouncing between customers and not making anyone wait too long.
Speaking of tastings, they have two tasting areas in the store - one of them is for sampling the varieties of honey and whips. We ended up getting the Black Sage honey and a chocolate whip. We felt the prices were reasonable for what the product is.
We also did the mead tasting. You pay $10 and they let you sample 6 different meads. There is a pretty good variety in the tastes (if you never had mead, it's worth the try) - not all of them are sweet and sugary. One of them starts off tasting like coffee and ends tasting like bananas. It was pretty interesting.
It's definitely worth a stop, if you are in the...
