Dear Manager/ Owner
I hope this message finds you well. I’m writing to share my experience during my visit to The Warehouse on the evening of May 2, 2025, a place I have frequented since 2017 both for personal enjoyment and business. My intention is not to tear down an establishment I’ve supported, but rather to bring awareness to an incident that I believe is not only an issue of poor communication but also an unfortunate example of assumptions based on race.
That evening, my boyfriend and I were having a pleasant time at your bar—eating, drinking, and even purchasing a souvenir cup to remember our visit. The staff, including the African American female bartender, a petite female Caucasian bartender and a Caucasian tall white male bartender, were attentive and friendly, as always. Yet, as we were preparing to leave, a tall, Caucasian male staff member with silver-gray hair in a ponytail approached us outside, accusing us of having an unpaid tab.
I was stunned. I immediately assured him that we had, in fact, paid and tipped generously. Despite this, he insisted that we had not. I tried to point him toward the bartender who cashed us out, yet he seemed unwilling to believe us. Only after I pointed out the female bartender and she confirmed our payment did he let us go.
I must stress that this situation was not just about a simple misunderstanding. It speaks to a broader issue of customer service and communication. This was an uncomfortable moment where, as a Black woman, I couldn’t help but feel that we were assumed to be dishonest simply because of our race. While I understand that mistakes can happen, this kind of assumption should not be the default.
The experience was disheartening, especially after so many enjoyable visits. I truly believe in the importance of clear communication among staff and of ensuring that all customers are treated with the same level of respect and dignity. I’ve never had an issue at your bar before, but this encounter left me questioning whether assumptions were made based on my appearance—and if so, I hope this can be addressed.
In closing, I want to emphasize that I am sharing this feedback not out of anger, but out of a desire for change. The Warehouse is a beloved place for many, and I truly believe that with better communication, respect, and awareness, these kinds of issues can be avoided in the future. I look forward to hearing how the management team plans to address this matter and make the experience better for everyone who walks through your doors.
Sincerely, No longer...
Read moreThursday night I celebrated birthday at this bar and it was so much fun. The guys behind the bar with the beard was so nice and pleasant. He took great care of me and my friend. So when the other 5 girls came down for a bachelorette party I decided to take them back to your establishment last night. I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO DISRESPECTED!! To the point that other people at the bar came up to me saying they were treated the same way by the girl behind your bar! And these were not my girlfriends they were other guests at the bar. THROWING MY TAB AT ME!?? AND THEN WALKING AROUND LIKE A CHILD TALKING TO EVERYONE MAKING FUN OF ME FOR HURTING MY FEELINGS AND MAKING ME CCCCRRRRRYYYYYY! I ask drew, your manager on duty, for a refund because I nor my friend consumed your products we did not actually drink the $16 shots after she THREW THE TAB at me! Drew told me he COULD NOT give me a refund and was very nice about trying to defuse the situation even when the young lady was coming up yelling at him about me while I was explaining my side of the situation. Katie .... I was told you are the owner and I have been bartending for years. My parents own a bar in atlanta that has been around for 29 years, I cried to Drew because I would NEVER treat someone the way she did. I felt so disrespected and so embarrassed by the way she treated me. I told the girls how much fun my friend and I had had there the night before that I was upset I brought them there when we were just fine hanging out at saddlebags. She completely ruined our whole night by treating me this way. Ladies and gentlemen stay clear if you see a short long haired blonde...
Read moreWould give this no stars if I could. After having a lovely weekend in Savannah my friends and I wanted one last drink on a Sunday night before going home. So we walked into Warehouse to hear their live music and it was a disaster the entire time. For starters the place is filthy. We were at a table for 20 minutes and during that time no one from the staff bothered to clear off the half empty drinks left by the customers before us. The bathroom was moldy and the smell almost made me sick. Then when my friend went to order herself a cocktail she felt she was completely over charged. She was confused as she just ordered a vodka and soda. So all she wanted to do was get a price clarification from any employee. One of the employees completely ignored her while he passed by and she had to say "excuse me" to the bar tender at least 7 times to get his attention. I'd also like to point out it wasn't very busy at the time so we weren't disturbing the staff while they were occupied with other customers. When she finally talked to the bar tender he blamed the situation on her then decided to make rude comments about her being from New York City, which has nothing to do with the situation. So unless you want flies in your drinks, mysterious liquids dripping from the ceiling and bar tenders who judge you based on the part of the county you come from do not come here. And just an FYI if you're going to insult someone because of where they're from just know we've never encountered a bar tender in NYC who has treated customers like this. And even our roach infests dive bars were cleaner than this...
