Cascade P-Patch Community Gardens — Local services in Seattle

Well-cared-for big city p-patch in the spirit of inner-city urban revitalization. The volunteers who maintain & tend this productive vegetable garden are welcoming & knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and community-minded. One of the volunteers explained to us that this is a “Giving Garden”.

Fresh from the earth, the seasonal harvest (thousands of pounds of produce each month) is donated to support the homeless or the poor; Likewise, there are occupied tents & sleeping bags around the adjacent community center building (this is a brief disclaimer in case you are uncomfortable with such inner-city realities).
