The people here were very friendly so big plus there. I ordered the dirty pumpkin chai latte and the cheese and pork biscuit platter.
Let me start out by saying, I do not appreciate the ordering system prompting me for a tip. "Tipped" employees make full minimum wage in this state and in this concept, I am not only placing my own order but I am also waiting outside in the elements for it to be finished. There is nothing to tip for. No service is being provided besides my food being made and handed to me. I know this seems to be commonplace in the area but it just seems a bit obnoxious for what is essentially a takeout order.
Moving on to the food. The biscuit platter was actually quite lovely. The biscuits were hot, fresh and very moist. The sausage gravy was a perfect consistency and the sausage was cooked nicely. The eggs were prepared overmedium precisely as I had ordered them. The bacon seemed to be of good quality and tasted good as well. The dish was very well seasoned and I would absolutely order it again.
The pumpkin chai latte was a big miss unfortunately. The espresso and chai overpower the drink entirely and give it a very strong, bitter flavor. The pumpkin flavor is good but there is not nearly enough of it. I only taste subtle hints of pumpkin. Unfortunately it was so awful I only took a few sips of it. I really dislike throwing away something I paid a premium for. I was not walking several blocks back to have the drink remade or refunded so unfortunately I'll just have to take the loss on that.
All in all, I'd recommend this place for the food but I would not purchase...
Read moreI am visiting Seattle for the first time and thought the name of the restaurant was fun and wanted to try the food. I got the Hot Mess Biscuits and Gravy, it was too salty and not much flavor. What really surprised me is how rude and aggressive the hosts at the door taking your order and handing out food were. I guess I didn’t hear them call my name when my food was ready and when I told them that I received a message saying it was ready but hadn’t heard my name being called out the young lady at the register started saying that “we don’t know anyone’s name. How are we supposed to know who you are?” And when she went to the kitchen to ask about my order another woman came out and was saying “I called your name twice actually” and they proceeded to tell me that if I got a message I was supposed to go up to the register and tell them. Not once did she inform anyone over the megaphone that that’s what you’re supposed to do. She simply said to present your ID when they call your name. My friends had no problem getting their food after they got their message and waited for their name to be called. But for whatever reason I got attitude and stank faces when I asked about my order. They could’ve simply said I must’ve not heard them call my name and handed me my food. Instead they were extremely rude and unkind in their behavior and tone of voice. Food was not worth the attitude...
Read moreMy wife and I came here for breakfast and we could not believe what happened.
I was wearing my Trump hat and we ordered our food at the counter. When our name was called my wife went into pick it up. The owner said ‘ I have packed your food to go for you and your Trump loving husband - he is upsetting my customers’.
We were sitting outside on chairs on the sidewalk, so I said NO, since the sidewalk is a public place. Then a another man walked up and told me he liked my hat and was shocked what he heard the woman say to my wife.
As we were finishing, the woman came out and yelled at me and told me to leave and I explained I was on public property and I had no intention of being intimidated by her. I also pointed out another customer had a “Beto for Senate’ sweatshirt on. No one had asked her to leave? You can see this in the picture I posted in the lower right corner. The owner then stomped off.
I am shocked at this display of intolerance and civility. Where is the First Amendment in Seattle? Certainly not here, and I never said a word except for wearing my hat! And she displays ‘VOTE’ posters, I wonder what this means? Only her way?
Sad to see what this country has become! I am entering my 7th decade of life and I have never been treated like this nor has anybody ever openly challenged me for having a belief different than theirs so blatantly....
